  1. Yeah, the rest and be thankful and tydrum cams also appear to be showing snow now so some hope for later!
  2. Yeah, but looks like rain at the rest and be thankful so it's not looking good for here... Rain/Sleet turning to snow likely here so a slushy mess at best I think!
  3. That front running down the West Coast is pepping up the intensity now, somewhere inland with a bit of elevation will get a good fall of snow. I'm expecting we'll end up with sleet/wet snow here but I'm still hopeful of something better!
  4. We've missed the heaviest of the showers but I did seem some soft hail/wet snow mix falling at about 7am which briefly turned the place white before melting. Hoping we get something more substantial later today but thereafter the meto forecast is dry for the week, or most of it......
  5. Snow and ice warning out for the South West now for Tomorrow night... Doh Hope you all had a good Christmas! UK weather warnings WWW.METOFFICE.GOV.UK Met Office UK weather warnings for rain, snow, wind, fog and ice. Choose your location to keep up to date with local weather warnings.
  6. Good photos of 2010, i'll need to dig some of mine out. I decided to drive from Hamilton to Edinburgh for work, thought there would be chaos so got up very early, checked the radar which looked bad (good!) and made it to work before it started. My only error was that I expected the chaos to be over by the time I left work! I didn't have a very supportive boss so had to risk it. Very thick freezing fog has rolled in here now. I noticed the meto are mentioning the risk of a shower later, so it could get very icey if that happens!!
  7. It's 10 years ago today that I was, with thousands of others, stuck on the motorway all day and most of the night due to snow, I won't forget that in a hurry! Today was a lot warmer but still seasonal with a max of 2c after an icey start.
  8. It snowed from about 4am, and there's a slushy covering again, not sure how that's all we got given the radar but oh well, can't complain too much with the start to winter Looks like the M74 is closed due to the weather, not surprised! There must be a few cars and lorries stuck up there this morning.
  9. The met office have expanded tomorrow's warnings West a bit so it includes here. That's rain tomorrow then! As soon as they expanded today's warning at 6am a heavy snow shower heading towards us died off and we never got any more Edit: meto warning page is having technical difficulties so may not be accurate, who knows then!
  10. Great capture, that's about a minute away from my house so I definetley slept through it
  11. I didn't hear or see anything but there's a slushy dusting of snow. There's loads of wet snow that has slid down the car windscreens/velux windows, so it must have been heavy in that last shower!
  12. The first sleety splodges of the winter falling here now, I can only see them on the velux though!
  13. Could be worse, you could be @CatchMyDrift who has just moved to Canada where its expected to be a balmy 17c this weekend, as the sleet and snow falls on his old house (just for fun as he's probably seen more snow so far in his few days of Canada than I will all winter!)
  14. Snow and ice warnings issued for tomorrow night into Thursday, they miss out here... @Northern Strath should do well!
  15. The first meto forecast for low level snow here, also a mention on Friday... Wednesday: Bright or sunny interludes and frequent showers, these turning to snow on the hills and then to lower levels this evening, and accumulating over high ground. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
  16. Good luck with the move! I love that area so I'm not jealous at all.... I've been to Banff and Lake Louise twice during the winter and even proposed to my wife in the snow there! Please keep @Mair Snaw and the rest of us happy by sending some snow photos In other news, I'm off to buy a sledge as this December is likely to be the snowiest on record with no @CatchMyDrift in the country
  17. Cracking squall just went through with torrential rain and very strong winds.
  18. Have you kicked him out of his house yet? Oh yeah, it's raining again...brief respite tomorrow before a wet weekend!
  19. We were well west of the warning area and still managed at least 40mm of rain, that would still have been a decent dumping of rain if the front came in from the west! I like heavy rain
  20. Snap, nice and frosty outside. Altnaharra is also at - 5c, not long until snow hunting begins now
  21. Just noticed the Edinburgh storm generator is getting going again!
  22. Some heavy bursts here but nothing like what the city centre has been getting. Pretty bad downpour there just now with reports of flooding on the M74 and M8.
  23. Took this photo yesterday, horseshoe vortex? It got better after this picture before being obscured by lower level cloud!
  24. Storm over Ayrshire heading north on route to East Kilbride /Glasgow area but I doubt it will make it personally... Edit:nearly dead already!!
