  1. Autumn and early winter Squalls are quite good here sometimes as the sea temps are still relatively warm, good for convection on the coast.
  2. Best squall of the year here, haven't seen white out rain and hail like that for a few years with the added bonus of thunder and lightning. All depends on if you hit the sweet spot or if you find yourself in a gap I suppose.
  3. You can actually see where the broken line segment curves exactly where that waterspout was spotted, off the NE of the Isle of white.
  4. I don't know, I usually only get thunderstorms from warm uppers being Spanish plumes.
  5. Sounds like you had quite the year for storms, think I only had one storm here this year early in the morning around 6am some time in June.
  6. Actually quite a nice day down here, blue skies, some clouds 12c but windy.
  7. I suppose it makes sense if you think about it, these places you mentioned being sunnier or 'less cloudy' are in the Lee of mountains like the Pennines and the Highlands in predominately W/SW winds. Down here we have nothing to block SW moisture laden winds
  8. According to the cet, every month this year has been above average, its looking like the first year ever to have all 12 months above the 69-90 averages.
  9. Fair enough, never thought I'd see you say it! I haven't seen a good snowfall since 2013 so it seems I'm getting slightly impatient, where as I know summer warmth is a given down here! I'll be getting an early spring in Morocco on the 8th of January so I'm happy!
  10. As much as I love cold weather in winter, this year I seem to find myself yearning for early spring.
  11. Kind of like a july day here, but replace the sand with shingle!
  12. Must feel weird the areas further north and in the Lee of mountains getting above 15c at this time of year, in my location we hit a ceiling at around 12-13c and seem to never go higher no matter how warm the airmass is. Must be the sea air.
  13. It is a very eerie kind of yellow outside, could this be to do with the volcanic eruption in Iceland as the wind direction is from that way?
  14. I can't believe the sun is shining after about 2 weeks of darkness, feels a good way to start my 12 day work streak through the Xmas new year period!
  15. We did well here in may and June, must be tough on the East coast in spring.
  16. It started quite well here, then went downhill rapidly from the 3rd onwards regarding sunshine, been pretty much relentless cloud since.
  17. July 1983 is my last entry in the competition, hope it wins, but it is up against a powerhouse!
  18. Most probably the warm june, sunny and around 20c every day sometimes higher.
