Been very heavy showers here last couple of hours... One lasted 40 minutes just as went out to sledge and snowball fight which was just luck.... Ive steered clear of the radar today just looking now. Hope the whole perth contingent have had these showers I have been getting. Defo lining up beefier ones towards Lothian now but plenty random showers being generated and given the forecasts in here confident will have about 13cm to 15cm by tomorrow morning.

Been so consumed by this spell not looked beyond Wednesday so may go and see what the future potentially holds aswell.

    Delighted for @Hawesy

And just like that I think @Norranceshower from his walk has reached here.

    Vid from around 4.45 earlier.

We just had a shower dumping 1.5-2cm in 10 minutes then the next thing I knew was digging the cars out.

I know exactly where you are coming from, I feel like I can relax now have 8cm on the ground and been able to watch a ton of showers fall. Will still be very jealous if everything falls so far south miss out on the real juicy stuff but don't mind giving you 3 or 4 cm

You have 8cm!!!??? i have about 3cm here.

Fascinating to see such differences between the two, not in distribution (although the euro4 does go a bit further south west with it) but in totals. I did think the Euro4 was a 'snowier' model but moreso because it seems to have a bit of a cold bias, and I assumed the precipitation modelling was pretty similar (although it could be that the UKV models a little melt during daytime for whatever reason).

Ukv often under does snow depths in these showery set ups? Gave nothing for here and dundee and stuff last night, thinking it will be a combo of the 2

Latest Euro 4 got 10-15cm very widely, some spots got 20-30cm, locally 40cm+ Though i wouldn't quite take it literally yet as a streamer or something could be 10-20 miles either way. Though there are increasing signs of a forth streamer too.

UKV is also in agreement. quite widely 10cm. locally 20-30cm.

We can still catch showers just frequency will likely be less and more intense further south... We are in the warning area for the latest Amber so that's good.... Or bad on recent met success

what i think we will see is that whole area of showers out in the N sea will very slowly move S over time, but also heavier and more frequent snow showers mixed in.

Here are my thoughts on where and when the most frequent snow showers will occur across Scotland. Thinking Tayside will get most frequent snow showers today, this will slowly move south into south Tayside and into Fife this evening and overnight. By tomorrow morning most shower activity will be getting into parts of the central belt and by the end of tomorrow most showers will be moving through the central belt more. i expect 5-10cm for most, locally 20cm possible.

and also, the colours mean nothing.
