  1. Clear skies earlier, but now overcast, hills to the east have remained misty all morning, ( Buxton direction). Garden thermometer nudging 18° and dew point 14.3 and rising, noticed Estofex have issued a forecast today, sorry can't do the link, have tried but tablet keeps saying my files are too big? I'm off work this week, so will be sky and radar watching today, we'll see what happens.
  2. So, for tonight we are looking at the 1 o'clock position, and because they are not 'branched out' chances for a view from the uk are somewhat reduced or in fact very slim? Please correct me if I'm wrong, I really want to get my head around this, thank you for your patience.
  3. The cell is on my west now, dark skies, no precipitation from the edge of it, was hoping for some action a bit closer to home too, there's still time yet.
  4. There is the cat and fiddle web cam, if you tap the image it clicks to an image of flash, tap it again you then get an image out over the cheshire plain to the Dee estuary, I think it refreshes every minute, for some reason my tablet wont download the cam. I wondered if any of the Wrexham cell can be picked up on it.
  5. Glad you're experiencing some, as anything that may pass west of me looks like it will shoot out west before hitting the Wirral.
  6. Same here garden shade temp at 21° too. Feeling much warmer than yesterday, cloud growth greater in height too. Similar pattern to yesterday, storms developing south/south west of Macc, at the moment Shropshire, we will see if they go west of me and straight on to you again. I would like one a bit closer today though. I love the anticipation.
  7. Yes, I drove up to a vantage point, a few minutes from where l live and sat and watched it fade out to sea, a second cell also came up from my west not as intense, but with orange and pink embedded lightning, couldn't hear thunder much too far away, this cell took the same path as the first and went out north west somewhere over the Wirral. Both cells were still popping when l called it a night about 12,15am. 100% cloud coverage here at the moment, grey, and feeling a little cooler.
  8. Just got back from my vantage point and watched the first cell flash in the distance out to sea, then more brighter distant flashes came into view west of Macclesfield moving north west, you could be in for another show.
  9. Here's a taster of some of the lightning I've been watching, sorry about the quality.
  10. Been watching pink lightning from this cell to my west for a little while now,
  11. The warm mid level nose not doing us any favours. A bit of luck maybe?
  12. Interestingly ventusky has pushed mid Wales cape up to 800j/kg. Manchester cape dropped to 600j/kg. Hmmm.
  13. These are the views North and North West of Macclesfield. Manchester TAF has broken clouds at a height of 1,200ft, cumulonimbus. Humidity at 53%. My garden thermometer not read above 20° today. Towers to my south, but too built up for a decent photo. No signs of anything punching through the cap.
  14. I see about an hour ago there were sferics off the N. Wales coast, thickening darker skies to my west too, I'll put my radio on, see if I'm picking up any sferics.
  15. I woke up briefly about 2.45am, had a look out my bedroom window and saw a small glimpse of what l thought were NLCs, my view is obscured by buildings, so I only have a small patch of sky with northerly views. Tempted as l was to jump in the car to go to my vantage point, I didn't as my alarm goes off at 5.45 for work. I have managed to book next week off, so I'm hoping for a chance to catch a morning show then. I just wish my house was that few feet taller.
  16. Sorry but I cant do links, but if you type insecam majorca on google, you then get a screen with a choice of cameras, there is a good live axis cam with views across Palma, the lightning is very distant though. It's a handy camera to know of.
  17. Good steady rainfall at the moment, garden thermometer in single figures at 7° but it feels cooler. Cracked soil, yellow lawns and dried up streams getting the soaking they need.
  18. Sferics in the north sea, off the essex coast heading towards east anglia according to blitzy, nothing on net weather radar though.
  19. That cleared almost as quickly as it came. Revealing some nice convective cloud in the Buxton direction, visible between house and tree.
  20. This is the direction l heard the thunder, south east, Buxton to Leek area.
  21. Just had hail here in Macc. I'm sure I just heard thunder too. Lights flickered a few moments ago but l put it down to gusts of wind.
  22. Fantastic hail shower as l type, lights flickered due to the strong gusts. Feeling quite cold suddenly.
  23. Tomorrows forecast is out from Estofex, sorry l can't do the link, there's nothing on it for the UK. See what Wednesday brings.
