  1. Perfect time to take a holiday then, no kids, cheap hotels and nice weather - what’s not to like…??
  2. I hope your pattern matching works out to be superior to mine then! Truth be told, I’m obviously hoping for 09/10 redux so I can put the new toy to the test!
  3. Totally agree, it all adds to the festive build up too - it feels right for pre-Christmas to be cold (and snowy) because that’s what we all believe is traditional. January cold, unless it’s a foot of snow I’d rather it started to warm up by mid-Jan. It won’t happen this year, guarantee it because I swapped my BMW for a Land Rover with winter tyres.
  4. I do miss the Watling! It was great little spot on a day like today. I used to work on Bread St, and later on Cheapside
  5. I’d love to know how the volume of traffic changes with the seasons on Netweather
  6. Been fantastic weather so far this week, not too hot either, just hot enough (for me anyway). The weekend does look a bit naff though, obviously!!
  7. Oh I don’t know, I think most of the comments regarding that have been just as well reasoned. Whilst I can’t remember them ever accurately forecasting a winter, they’re no different to any other LRF. It’s just a bit of fun and they’re having a go too.
  8. I don’t understand how if, as the article suggests, the main circulation is expected to be from the north to the south, this would produce mild and dry for the U.K. surely it would be more likely to be cold and dry?
  9. It was clickbait, don’t fall for it
  10. Surely putting a heater on is a little over dramatic, I know the weather has been a bit cruddy but it’s not been cold anywhere in the U.K… The weeds and the spiders on the other hand, they can absolutely do one!
  11. Sounds like winter model watching to me
  12. You’d better start an Autumn chat thread then. I’ll stick with Summer whilst it’s still here thanks.
  13. All weather has a point, or doesn’t - showers are no more or less pointless than any other type. This type means I don’t have to water my garden…so it looks nice for the next garden party…
  14. Noting BW’s post above, and fully respecting that others have differing views/needs etc. But, I’ve always considered myself a ‘heat hater’. Temperatures over 30c and I just struggle to function, I feel tired and heavy, and often found sitting in the car with the AC on (I know, the GW shame). I have a fairly narrow band of what I’d consider to be, for me, the perfect summer temperature - probably around 22-25c during the day. I think this summer has been kind so far! So it begs the question, what’s your band of perfect operating temperature for summer in the daytime?.
  15. You should be fine, looking like about 25/26c towards the end of the week, just about right!
  16. Lovely sunny day here, spring has certainly sprung and it feels good. Looking back, I think winter delivered enough cold and snow to feel seasonal, so not disappointed at all really. It can rain as much as it likes now over the next month or so, as long as it stops in time for summer
  17. Mid-March, standard. Was anybody really expecting it to be any different…?? This was never going to be more than a case of watching a few flakes fall, enjoy it for a few hours and back to normal the next day.
  18. I’ll admit, it was a bit hot for my liking, I’m a 25c kinda guy, especially if I’m working. Winter looks like it’s done it’s thing now, wasn’t bad as winters go either. Spring on the horizon…
  19. I hate to be so, how can I put this? ‘realistic’? There was never really much of a chance of anything apart from some very scattered wintry showers. Not at any point have the models given us any agreement on anything but that.
  20. Slush is most likely, it’s going to be horrible next week - cold and wet
  21. Umm…no, you mentioned Wales, so I’m quite sure the IMBY was your regional specific comment, mine was and still is generic.
  22. I’m replying to a generic statement, I don’t think the original message was welsh specific..?
