  1. Another mild winter's day in Bridlington, as that's basically been it for 2+ weeks now. Hopefully we will see 17 or 18c this weekend and better still 20c . A very poor show really .
  2. Here in Bridlington temperatures have been around 13c by day for much of the last 2 weeks solid ! Seeing all the beautiful clear blue skies around the country we have definitely been mugged off on the east coast this May and first week in June. Bournemouth 25c today , yet a ridiculous 13c here - truly laughable ! Perhaps it can reach 17c on the east coast this weekend
  3. Absolutely horrendous for sure and again a cold day in Bridlington and mostly cloudy. Just gets worse and worse !
  4. It's warm in London compared to Bridlington on the actual east coast .. eventually it will be 30c in London and possibly more come July !
  5. Been mostly cold with a north easterly breeze / wind down the east coast for most of the last 10 days. Maximum temperatures have often failed to exceed 14c .. Just the same as in the winter can be including Christmas. Laughable really but a reality !
  6. Sun finally out in Bridlington but it's bloody cold and has been all week !
  7. Only around 13c in Bridlington today which always seems to happen in a north easterly wind in late spring , more particularly under cloudy skies. Very poor really given we are almost into the start of June. Meanwhile places in the Lake District are enjoying unbroken sunshine and 21-23c today. God give me strength
  8. It's what I have been calling the default setting since I moved up to East riding of Yorkshire. Winter conditions in late May all down to the north sea temperature and wind direction off that cold sea - affecting a good part of eastern England and occasionally even London ! Envious of our friends across the water in Ireland this week as it will be around 23c .
  9. It's been very cool this spring for sure and likely to warm up considerably into June and more particularly July. Expecting the usual 18-23c in Bridlington and the occasional 24-27c but 32-36c is a good bet for the usual hotspots inland in July/early August.
  10. It is +4c in Bridlington now and dp rising so let it rain down. Peak District is the place to be to build a very large snowman later today hahaha
  11. It will be rain on the east coast with an easterly wind onshore. Chance of sleet and snow into tomorrow morning as the system clears and winds back northerly. We had our fun on Tuesday morning , what more could a man want lol. Maybe some sleet mixed in today but mostly rain.
  12. Well a nice covering in Bridlington for March. Even the trees are coated white. Have a great day people
  13. Absolutely spot on Mike. The winds today have been a lot stronger than for Storm Otto in Bridlington. Infact with a top gust of 51mph today. The temperature upto 14.3c now so warmest day of the year so far for Bridlington but the windchill factor has been significant ! May see 15c today which would be very respectable before winter makes a comeback from Wednesday. Need some light evenings again now but not so long to wait thankfully
  14. Good morning everyone , well a cool late January day it is here in Bridlington with a couple of heavy showers around 7-8.30 . Mostly cloudy since and a light to moderate north to north east wind. Temperature currently 7c so not too bad , although feels pretty damp and possibility of one or two further showers drifting in off the north sea. Into late winter now and not long until March with February being a 28 day month this year. Wishing everyone a great day
  15. An hour of light to moderate rainfall in Bridlington and how wonderful it is after a long static spell to finally see a little more mobility. The birds are loving the rain and puddles to have a good clean. Roll on spring now with perhaps the odd brief cold snap thrown in along the way. More frost away from the north sea coast tonight as winds gradually back north then north east - and perhaps a few showers. Have a great night people
  16. Early days yet .. often get cold snaps / spells in February and early March over the last 10 years with some moderate to heavy snow showers . This is Ol Blighty remember so we can't expect too much being an island. Roll on the longer days I say .
  17. Well certainly a very wet and dark morning in Bridlington today. Some light , moderate and heavy rain for about 5 hours. Decided to go supermarket shopping and on the way back the A165 had some road flooding resulting in a fair build up of traffic . Flooding to about 2 to 3 feet at the deepest . Thankfully the rain is over for now or will be by 2pm.
  18. Make the most of it while it lasts. Autumn is a late starter after the very hot European summer this year so it will take time to cool down.
  19. Good morning everyone and the sun is shining in Bridlington after a heavy shower passed through about 08.15-09.00. Actually it was foggy here first thing and very damp from all the rain yesterday. A cracking day of sunshine and showers today and a south westerly wind which will strengthen this afternoon. Have a great weekend everyone and stay strong in the face of the Westminster chaos !
  20. Well Well Well it would be fair to say autumn has arrived in East riding of Yorkshire with a thoroughly miserable day today and plenty of rainfall around including 7mm upto 1pm in Bridlington (and more since). Was very heavy for a short while and some large puddles as a result. It might be mild but under the grey skies it can start to feel very cool !
  21. Looks like a south easterly wind for a time next week so just a question of how strong across England . Weather likely to be mixed so something for everyone. But as you said the clock change won't be until October 30 .. the closer to November the better ! Half decent morning in Bridlington today , although a lot more cloud around compared to yesterday , and temperature fairly comfortable for walking about. Have a great weekend
