    Now glorious sunshine and gentle breeze in Brid and a mass exodus of towns and cities has started heading for the east coast. Expect 20 mile tailbacks heading for Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. The heatwave has arrived

    6mm of rainfall to 7am today at Bridlington weather station on the north beach. So certainly 4mm since so could be on for 12mm today (or half an inch). Wettest day in over a month for sure thanks to very slow moving showers !

    Certainly a very wet morning in Bridlington with some rather heavy rain which is only just now easing. More like a November day here so far with cold temperatures for the last day in April. Been a very poor month with regards to warmth but plenty of sunshine of course and many frosts at night ! Some folk been out in shorts over the last month here but spring hasn't even started (never mind summer lol) Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone

    I think there will be some snow grains at least falling on the east coast here at some point but it would be lovely to see a proper fall. I do believe some areas inland could get 2 to 4 inches and maybe 6 from this set up.

    Would be good to actually see some falling snow here and even a slight covering would be a change from the rain and showers of most weeks this winter !

    I'm in Bridlington and never ending rain here this winter so far. Just a little hail and ice pellets and perhaps a little sleet in recent weeks.

    That's certainly hard to imagine after all the rain here this winter. Been horrible today in a south easterly wind which had finally gone round to a southerly. What are the chances of blowing snow ?

    December 2010 was a winter wonderland in Bridlington and for many parts of England. Christmas was beautiful and about 4 inches of snow on the ground from earlier falls. Went for amazing walks on the seafront and the actual beach. Brid harbour had some ice in it also !

    Looking interesting for Sunday & Monday ! Will there finally be snow falling on the east coast of Yorkshire this winter OR will it be rain / sleet OR miss completely ?

    What a disgrace lol ! Then in the spring (late march to May period) it can be bloody freezing here while inland lovely and warm. You just can't win

    Here on the east coast in Bridlington it's been all about the amount of rainfall and strong winds this winter so far. No snow upto Feb 2nd for the entire winter !

    Not a flake in snowless Bridlington so far this winter ~ plenty of cold rain. Different world here !

    Cold wet and windy in Bridlington. Still not a flake of snow here this winter upto 9am today. Plenty of frost and ice though in recent weeks. Last winter 30 mins of light snowfall in February one morning at 06.30. The Brid snow shield is doing its job so far this winter lol. Have a great day people.

    Not a flake of snow all winter so far in Bridlington. Had some hail and sleet though. Can see the snow band to the north of here right now and there was even a rainbow about 08.30. Muat be something in Scarborough right now ?

    Truly horrendous quite frankly for 48 hours now. I mean how often do you get 50 mm of rain in Scarborough in a 24 hour period (and a strong northerly wind also at the same time).

    Absolutely horrendous conditions in Bridlington for the last 48 hours. Over 35mm of rainfall., very strong northerly winds and very cold feel for the end of August. This really is exceptionally poor for the time of year.

    Yes crazy how cold it has become this month .. Still raining here in Bridlington now ... 13 hours non stop today

    Horrendous day in Bridlington with non stop light to moderate rain and very strong easterly winds gusting in excess of 45mph this afternoon. Today could easily have passed as any day in the winter. The previous 5 days have been very poor considering it's May !

    A poor showing really i feel by the met office . There should have been some heavy showers by mid to late morning and on into the lunch period .... But barely a light shower and plenty of bright warm conditions ...

    Rubbish forecast for today given by bbc yesterday for south east and London. Proving to be a lot warmer and brighter than forecast. 22c at Heathrow currently ...

    Depends where you are .... dry as a bone here in London for days .... Bangkok is the place to be for an AWESOME sight !!!! Take whatever we get in this country .... Bangkok is the place to be for FANTASTIC lightning and VERY VERY LOUD thunder and the MOTHER OF ALL STORMS ... i talk from personal experience !!!!
