  1. Absolutely spiffing 24 to 48 hours in Bridlington and the warmest period I can remember. Night time temperatures have stayed up around 18 to 20c and daytime has been close to 26c. The summer of 2022 just keeps on giving and giving. Some rather cool nights to come over the next 3 or 4 days though so enjoy that warmth ladies and gents ! It should be like this every day of the year , then no need for heating and washing dries rapidly out on the line. Costa del Bridlington oh yessss
  2. It's hit 26.3c in Bridlington so it's in the top 5 hottest days of 2022 here today. Absolutely spiffing
  3. Yes Mike the general trend is upwards for sure. Pretty amazing to see 40c in parts of Lincolnshire and Yorkshire recently - now that is pretty shocking ! 25c is a comfortable figure at the moment for a good part of England but in a poor summer it might be closer to 20 or 21.
  4. This is the weather I am used to but it doesn't last long in Bridlington. Infact I am used to 25-30c in the summer after living in London a long time. Always makes me chuckle in April or early May when I hear folk saying it's going to be hot. 17-21c isn't hot LOL. This summer has been excellent I feel though and plenty of warmth to enjoy across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Have a great day sir
  5. Some really humid warm air across East Riding of Yorkshire today and just a little rain in Bridlington this morning. Shame this won't stay for long as the nights are lovely and toasty. Skies just starting to break from the west now. Let's hope for some more warm weather over the next 2 months and some heavy showers also. Have a great day people
  6. 6mm of rainfall here in Brid overnight to 7am and it's still raining now lightly at 09.55. Everything will be greening up here nicely after some rain about 5 days ago also (7mm). So probably end up around 10mm for this rain event over the last 18 hours by lunchtime today. Very quiet morning but good luck to the wonderful England Lionesses at Wembley later in the Euro Final against Germany
  7. Bridlington is low lying and benefits from its own local climate. That either is a positive or a negative thing and mostly governed by sea temperature. Superb day yesterday in terms of feel like temperature , variable cloud cover and some sunshine. In Brid they call that a heatwave !
  8. Woken up to grey skies in Bridlington and it has been raining . Mixed weekend to come for sure. July has been a fantastic month overall but the days have notably started to get shorter as usual although sunrise is at a nice time now (rather than at a ridiculously early hour around the summer solstice). They should move summer school holidays to start around June 21 and end them around August 7 (to make use of the maximum daylength). In the process creating a new bank holiday in the autumn and making half term 2 weeks long ,rather than the traditional 1 week. The late August bank holiday would stay as it is OR move it to the FIRST monday in August (just like in Ireland).. Come on Ol Blighty forward thinking please It's just another Ol Blighty Day !
  9. Beautiful day in Bridlington. Comfortable temperature under a mix of cloudy and sunny skies today and just a gentle breeze. This sure has been a fantastic summer overall for June and July. The days are starting to get shorter now so enjoy everyone as August approaches rapidly. Summer holiday season in full swing and plenty of classic dance tracks being played on the north beach rides close to the leisure centre. Have a great weekend people
  10. It's been a decent summer in this part of the world but it remains a cool area overall. Good to see some decent rainfall yesterday late afternoon / early evening and the wood pigeons we're loving the rainfall (having a good clean). Dismal day today though but the sun will return this week. I wanted to post recently but I keep having problems with my account so I got knocked out and couldn't remember my password LOL.
  11. Bridlington was the coolest place in Yorkshire last Tuesday at 24c . Only thanks to a south south easterly wind direction - which kept the bay MUCH cooler . Scarborough was 35/36c as a comparison which is truly remarkable. The temperature actually rose in Bridlington on the Tuesday night to 26c and it felt a lot hotter on Wednesday morning due to a change in wind direction (south westerly).
  12. Coolest day for a good while in East Riding of Yorkshire. Had 7mm of rainfall in Bridlington yesterday and it has been raining again now for about 90 mins (mostly drizzle and light rain). Certainly a fairly poor day here for the end of July. Still time for that to change today though with some sunshine this evening perhaps .
  13. Yes quite remarkable considering how pleasant it has been here in Brid.
  14. Hull East Park always seems to do well for very warm conditions.
  15. Yes it's comfortably warm here and will be a good thing for sleeping that's for sure. I think that Leconfield recording station is faulty over the last 2 weeks as it is producing very high readings .
  16. 31c in Beverley is just ridiculous. But for a good part of Yorkshire it has been over 29c today. It can get very warm in Bridlington from a decent westerly when hot air is sitting to the west. Certainly must be one of the coolest places in Yorkshire today that's for sure !
  17. It rarely gets hot in Bridlington but the sun can be absolutely blistering ! A few weeks ago it reached 29c which felt very uncomfortable for this location. Sunday and Monday (next) are looking very hot indeed across England that's for sure.
  18. Lovely and cool here in bracing Bridlington. One of the coolest spots in Yorkshire today for sure.
  19. There's more convection going up inland so could see something more later but not guaranteed. That was a stunning flash of lightning earlier . It must be labour looking for attention after the local election voting yesterday LOL
  20. Cracking little storm close to Brid now out into the north sea. The plants and birds loving the drink today.
  21. Laughable how are all the beautiful conditions in East Riding of Yorkshire last week it all suddenly goes downhill the moment the clocks go forward ! Will we see those flakes flying later this week .. Surely not (more particularly at sea level). Roll on summer I say and get the trees green once again ! The clock change has brought the REAL spring LOL
