  1. A mild day in Bridlington but we had warmer at the very start of January. Just another Ol Blighty winter's day at the end of the day (with a hint of spring thrown in). The odd snowflake here and there before the month is out but the days are getting longer and that is a good thing. There was the beast from the east at the very end of February 2018 so you can never take it for granted that winter is over. Roll on summer 2022
  2. Batten down the hatches as winter has returned. Hail, sleet and rain + thunder in bracing Bridlington. Last snow fell on November 28 but winter is not done with us yet.
  3. The worst stormy conditions in Bridlington for a while over the last 4 hours from a south easterly direction ! Winds gusting to 65mph.
  4. Horrendous conditions in Bridlington with winds gusting OVER 60mph over the last 2 hours. This storm is WORSE than the previous one. Stay safe everyone as its dangerous out there at present !
  5. Torrential deluge passed through Bridlington where visibility was reduced to 30 metres. Thankfully it is over now as we need some sunshine to dry the ground a little before it gets dark !
  6. Absolutely horrendous morning in Bridlington with winds gusting in excess of 50mph and some very heavy rainfall. Definitely the worst morning for a long time here and the wind gusts have been very powerful from a south easterly direction.
  7. Yes as it can be absolutely boiling in places like Hull , Cottingham and of course further west and south (like Lincoln and Doncaster).
  8. The ground is absolutely soaking after today. It made me laugh the extreme heat warning that was issued last month , when it was actually cooler than recent summers for England. In Bridlington 23c is classed as a hot day and it rarely goes higher than this. It did reach around 29c in 2018 though !
  9. Tremendous rainfall at times in Bridlington today and certainly NOT a warm August sunny day by any means ! There was a thunderstorm about 2 weeks ago that gave 13mm in 40 mins and we have seen something similar today. Will be interesting to see the 7pm rainfall for the 6 hours since 1pm.
  10. Absolute rotten day in Bridlington. 6mm of rainfall to 1pm (since 7am) and had some really heavy downpours in the 2 hours since. Certainly been a very wet summer generally compared to recent years (more particularly 2018). Everything is soaking wet here now and very lush !
  11. A very cool and cloudy day in Bridlington today. All the heat has come out of the house from recent weeks with these low daytime values. 14c does not do it for the last day of June !
  12. Yes but that can only be a good thing lol. I used to live in Harrow and was down in London end of July last year. It hit 36~37c and boy that was sweltering !
  13. That is because it is not a heatwave sir ! The business end of the summer is in July and early August when 34-35c is very possible. This is just the building blocks for later in the summer.
  14. Bridlington been cold and grey for a good part of Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. There have been some sunny intervals also but hardly a proper warm sunny late May day ! Saturday was excellent though and warmer. Town is packed with visitors but at around 12~14c hardly warm over the last 2 days. Meanwhile west has done very well indeed
  15. What a shocker of a day in Bridlington ! For a May day very very poor and it could have easily passed for an October or March day. Been a very cold spring and recently plenty of rain , sleet and hail. Really needs some proper spring warmth and sunshine , with a few heavy May type showers going forward. Been plenty of sunshine in April but oh so cold with at least 9 night frosts. Let's have some 18c+ days please now !
  16. Very wet afternoon and early evening in Bridlington with some very strong gusty winds. Feels more like winter !
  17. Now glorious sunshine and gentle breeze in Brid and a mass exodus of towns and cities has started heading for the east coast. Expect 20 mile tailbacks heading for Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. The heatwave has arrived
  18. 6mm of rainfall to 7am today at Bridlington weather station on the north beach. So certainly 4mm since so could be on for 12mm today (or half an inch). Wettest day in over a month for sure thanks to very slow moving showers !
  19. Certainly a very wet morning in Bridlington with some rather heavy rain which is only just now easing. More like a November day here so far with cold temperatures for the last day in April. Been a very poor month with regards to warmth but plenty of sunshine of course and many frosts at night ! Some folk been out in shorts over the last month here but spring hasn't even started (never mind summer lol) Happy Bank Holiday weekend everyone
  20. I think there will be some snow grains at least falling on the east coast here at some point but it would be lovely to see a proper fall. I do believe some areas inland could get 2 to 4 inches and maybe 6 from this set up.
  21. Would be good to actually see some falling snow here and even a slight covering would be a change from the rain and showers of most weeks this winter !
  22. I'm in Bridlington and never ending rain here this winter so far. Just a little hail and ice pellets and perhaps a little sleet in recent weeks.
