  1. Potential for record low pressure in Black Sea if this materialises- presumably blizzards on this too
  2. Just got absolutely soaked picking up daughter at romsey station. Biblical rain. I don’t have a good feeling about this storm at all.
  3. anyone else with headache/sinus issues ahead of rapidly dropping pressure? or is it just me imagining it?
  4. I did a jfk-lhr flight in a similar jet stream a few years back, it was 5 hours and change. Turbulent half the journey though.
  5. I’d imagine if Oxford or Cambridge or somewhere in london had anything like the flooding in chesterfield today there’d be breaking news and insane coverage
  6. Looking at traffic maps it looks like half the country has ground to a halt. We’re on a long weekend to derby (long story) and it was terrible early but just on southern fringe since then. Drive up from south coast yesterday was brutal.
  7. It’s so bad even the sea is flooding
  8. Make it make sense... Can hear the thunder but it's uncannily going either side
  9. Is the “joint” part of their name what they’ve been smoking?
  10. Like I said - my thunder headaches never fail. They should keep me in a lab at the met office
  11. I’ve got that “thunder coming” headache that’s a definitive predictor of a storm coming! equally I had a skinful at the bear & ragged staff earlier so it could be that
  12. Meteofrance warning sounds quite intense, goes orange from this afternoon VIGILANCE METEO FRANCE ORAGES VIGILANCE.METEOFRANCE.FR VIGILANCE MÉTÉO FRANCE ORAGES : Information sur les risques météorologiques de la journée en cours.
  13. Not sure being born is a certainty, but you’re right about alderc and azazal lol
  14. Just training it through Clapham and it’s very black and impressive looking, but haven’t seen anything flashy
  15. Not a sniff of this on UK news. It’s embarrassing
  16. Silly temperatures that. Still just below 40c here, patchy clouds, already convection over the mountains
  17. 32.5c at 10:30 this morning - looks like the peak of the heat. Storms over Pyrenees the last couple of evenings haven’t migrated from the mountains but today feels “chargee”
  18. I’m just south of carcassone in the yellow warning area. Hit 40c today (my first ever), moderated by a breeze and access to a pool. The main issue here is the relentless- there’s not really any relief, just constantly hot day and night. plus, Quite a lot of the shops and bars have just shut down.
