  1. Maybe it’s a much delayed Y2K bug? Lol. let’s hope there’s not too many automated workflows keyed into this data - wouldn’t be great if the gritters were out in Newcastle, or if loads of central heating systems switch on (I jest obviously)
  2. Flew virtually overhead here. No pictures though lol, didn’t have me phone. btw, Qatar flight 3 was stacking right above the approach to the fly past, must have seen the whole thing. Bet there’ll be some great videos of it after people finally get off the plane.
  3. Incredible how different that is to the forecasts maps they had on bbc news earlier, which basically had a scattering of loads of little showers all over the place.
  4. Really strong shower in that “crud” just north of Southampton. It’s chucking it down.
  5. Wasn't there a similar rip current near the pier a couple of years ago? I seem to recall 15 people or more had to be rescued. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned in any of the recent press. edit: found the newslink: Mass rescue of 17 caught in rip current off Bournemouth WWW.BBC.CO.UK The group were seen by lifeguards being pulled out to sea in a powerful rip current on Monday.
  6. Well I’m up in london today and the cloud’s a bit overhyped I reckon - sun’ll be out soon I reckon.
  7. 5 also. Feeling good this morning. Good excuse to laze about in the garden and avoid all the jobs however, so I’ll keep up the cough for a bit
  8. First time was all about fever, stomach problems (sympathy for you there - it lasted for days), nothing respiratory at all. Truly appalling. Second time, a light cold. this time it’s all about terrible throat and cough. Bizarre to thing it’s even the same thing- completely different each time. feeling well enough to get out for a walk today - hope you’re soon better
  9. I’ve got covid for the third time at the mo. Worse than last time, but nowhere near when I hallucinated my way through the euros back in.the day. Managed to get some late sun this evening - unreal how strong it felt even at 5:00pm!
  10. My dad messaged me that the sky in south cambs looks like Independence Day. Sadly he’s too inept with technology to share a photo.
  11. https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/webcams/winchester_united-kingdom_2633858 What’s this then?
  12. Just had a couple of brown-trouser-close strikes here near romsey
  13. Yeh, spot on. More than once it’s been snow from the Dukes Head* north and rain south of it. It’s my own version of the M4. *(now the Duke on the Test, don’t you know, la de DAH, £7 a pint)
  14. You can forget your models. All you need to know is I’m flying out of Heathrow on 3rd feb, and every other time* in the last 25 years I’ve tried to get away in the winter to somewhere warm, there’s been some sort of ridiculous blizzard and I’ve missed a connection. *ok, so 3 times. But once we got bumped out of the de-icer queue by Concorde, so there’s that.
  15. I know it’s rained a bit and also there’s been a bit of ice, but the last couple of days the train lines to london have fallen down a hill and half the roads near us have been closed for ages due to black ice. Don’t want to be “that guy”, but has everything gone to pot?! Heaven help us if we ever get a 63 winter again
  16. 21:57 bbc news weather… they showed the “forecast” from yesterday evening instead of today’s and there’s me not knowing what day of the week it is.
  17. I’ve no idea what mesovortices are… presumably something tornado like?
  18. Looks like a potential catastrophe- but having said that I saw some video just now from the village in Captiva and, though flooded with trees down, it looked at least like buildings were standing. I was fearful everything would just be gone.
  19. I’ve been there a couple of times too. Hard to imagine there’ll be much left
