weather_it_will replied to Paul's topic in Forecast Model Discussion
Snow maybe over some eastern and western parts, but this is all marginal for most of us, especially the Midlands and Central areas until we get to T198.- 2,804 replies

Model Moans, Ramps and Banter

It's the same every year. Nobody is happy with the weather models predictions. Obviously nobody got a new record for Christmas. (Don't they call them CD's or downloads now) -

It's not powdery here. The snow is all rock solid and crunchy. I can't even open the wheely bin as it's frozen shut. -3°C now. -

-2°C here now. The side roads are all turning to ice rinks where people have used their own salt to melt the snow which has now frozen over. -

More like -8C. Shefali on BBC Midlands claims it will be -14C. I don't know what she has been smoking? -
Model Moans, Ramps and Banter

Northerlies are no good for us in Central England either, but sometimes the Cheshire gap delivers some snow. At present I don't get the excitement about the cold snap later this week, as it's far too early to predict who, or if anyone will have snow. -
It has been snowing here fine grains between Henley In Arden and Redditch.

Model Moans, Ramps and Banter
weather_it_will replied to Polar Maritime's topic in Forecast Model Discussion
The current models are not showing any more high snow risks, and temperatures not exceptionally cold. No Ice days this winter, so I do think it's game over for this winter. -
Was raining a minute ago, but now it's changing into snow here near Banbury. Temp 0.7°C Dewpoint 0°C

Nobody knows for sure what the weather will be doing, as the models are struggling beyond next 2-3-days. -

The so called storm will have little effect on anyone south of a line from North Wales to Hull in my opinion. -

I can't see any interest in the models until at least middle of January 2017 for anyone that likes snow. -

It's the same every year. The model output forum is a waste of time as everyone just cherry picks what they want to see or just quotes the metoffice forecast. Any chance of snow is a long way off at present. -
Anything below 24c is too cold for me in the summer.
-
Judging by the poor summer weather so far, I think it might be.
-
When I see people wearing shorts at the same time I am wearing a coat, I just think they are nuts. The last 2 days have been coat weather, even though I have seen nutters wearing shorts.

There is always heat in Spain, but it's only average there at present, and much the same for the rest of the world.
-
High Low Average Temperature 24.7 °C 7.1 °C 14.6 °C This is totals for June in my location The Azores high next week is only going to bring in more rain storms. Louise just said this on BBC weather.

That's great if you live in the West. But unfortunately most of us don't, and apart from a couple of days here and there, it's been a poor start for warmth this year, and was very tempted to put on the central heating for the last 2 weeks.
-
15°C here at present and feeling a bit cold. Hazy sunshine just starting to show. Nothing like the forecasted heatwave we were expecting from the Metoffice.
-
Looks like another poor summer for 2016 with lots of rain and wind forecast for June. The best days of the year are always in May as with previous summers of the last few years.

Spring moans, ramps, chat and banter
weather_it_will replied to Paul's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
Rainfall is below average here for the last 30 days, and so if it's going to be mild we may as well have more rain to make it interesting. I wish for cold weather and snow, as that is how it should be in winter, and not this boring mild grey mush we have, and still waiting for a 1947 winter. -
Have you turned your heating on yet ?
weather_it_will replied to stewfox's topic in Spring Weather Discussion
Heating has been on since mid September here at least. When I arrived back in the UK from Spain I just could not get used to how cold it is here. We went to Spain to get away from the UK cold summer. I think this winter is going to be very cold. -
Summer 2015 overviews and opinions

Very bad summer this year here. In summary, too much rain, not enough sun, low temperatures. Every weekend the weather was cooler than during the week.
