  1. Heavy snow here all afternoon yet no further accumulation from this morning’s 3cm powder snow. Quite incredible since air temps have held steady at -2c all day.
  2. Moderate Snow continues to fall here at 16:30 Temp -2.1c with no further accumulation. What a waste!
  3. Still big flakes here with no accumulation since 11am. Bring back the dry flakes
  4. It’s so bizarre, the heaviest snow I’ve seen here with an easterly component and minus temperatures easterly fed and yet there’s a slow melt with -2c temperatures. Has to be ground temps as others have alluded to why there is no further accumulation
  5. It’s -2c here. Snowing heavily since 11am after the powder snow of this morning Steady moderate snow now and yet after hours of heavy snowfall with minus temperatures it’s a slow melt outside. Easterly and minus temps with snow will always deliver? Absolutely NOT
  6. Heavy snow has turned to moderate Steady snow with temps at -2c yet a slow melt is continuing to take place. The most strangest minus temperature easterly here ever.
  7. Been the heaviest snow here past few hours I’ve seen for a few years. Yet no accumulation with minus temps. What a waste here of 4 hours of heavy snow.
  8. Just to highlight my previous posts. Heavy snow the past 4 hours of temps at -2c My front garden has gone from snow covered dry snow this morning, to patch green covered. I had more snow on 24th Jan from a westerly with temps at plus figures. Can anyone shine a light? IMG_3555.MOV
  9. Nope it’s nearly -2c here Beautiful powder snow this morning turning to big snow flakes this afternoon, we now have wet roads and paths. just grassy surfaces with cover and it’s still snowing heavily
  10. The snow here is so heavy and yet no further accumulation. It’s melting existing powder snow from earlier. Current air temp -1.8c You couldn’t make it up.
  11. These big fat flakes have caused snow melt of the beautiful powder snow earlier. My patio was covered 3 hours earlier
  12. What a waste. Heavy snow with a temp a -2c and no accumulation Only in the U.K.
  13. Big fat flakes falling so heavily for the past 3 hours with temps at -2c with a slow melt of the powder snow this morning. No further accumulation. It must be something to do with ground temps mate as per your post. Need that powder snow back and quick. Come on Easterly!!!!
  14. -2c - heavy snow falling and yet no accumulation just a slow melt. Crazy!!!
  15. Heavy big fat flakes here continuing to melt the decent covering of powder snow from this morning
  16. It’s crazy Tim. temps well below freezing, constant heavy snow for hours with no further accumulation. Very strange.
  17. Been snowing moderately here since 6am, beautiful dry powder snow until 10am Fat flakes started at 11am and snowing very heavy pretty much throughout. Paths are now wet and a slow melt with heavy snow falling at temps -2c Can anyone shine a light?
  18. Crazy heavy snow here and yet not adding to the powder snow of 3cm this morning, actually causing a very slow melt. Quite unreal considering it’s nearly -2c and easterly. The 8cm on 24th January from the west was a lot more memorable. Bizarre
  19. Need the dry snow back. These big flakes are causing a very slow melt, with temps at -1.5c currently
  20. Strange old day. lovely powdery snow (as you would expect from an easterly) this morning Last 3 hours big fat flakes and heavy snow but a very slow melt with temps at -1c
  21. Whilst this is definitely of note and concern for those in the Amber Warning these frontal systems can make fools out of us, as well as the professionals. Many of times during similar/ snowfall events I was bemused looking at the radar in real time. Monday I think is going to see raging snow showers piling in from the North Sea. All of our region likely to cop some heavy snow showers with the heaviest falls out east
  22. A definite move East on the latest FAX - so much so that only Suffolk, East Essex and East Kent likely to pick up accumulations from the front. Hopefully enough instability to bring those showers inland later Sunday into Monday.
  23. Have to solemnly agree with you on this, anyone West of Cambridge is looking very sketchy on latest runs for Sunday.
