  1. Cloud running from Devon eastwards south of M4. High cloud building across wales running west. Very much doubt it will be blue skies this afternoon, the U.K. is the front runner for producing broken cloud skies on what should be a sunny day.
  2. Temp now at 31c here in Bedfordshire at 10:55am Took until 12 noon to get to 30c July 2019. Based on that, very likely to see the record beaten today somewhere in our region.
  3. Cloud already rolling in at 7:40am from the west. Have a feeling there will be a lot more cloud than forecast today.
  4. Normal summer evening. Milky hazy skies and feeling warm, usual cloudy British summer day. Let’s see if tomorrow actually produces blue skies!
  5. Lots of milky thick high cloud about. Certainly not the wall to wall sunshine the BBC forecasters had us on this morning!
  6. 30c here now even with dull milky hazy skies. Hope tomorrow gives of blue skies rather than this dross
  7. Very milky skies here. Temp 27c The non existence of bright blue skies in summer continue.
  8. Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire possibly into Bedfordshire as it stands reaching 40c Yorkshire to far north to take the benefits of the London UHI
  9. Looking at July 2019 charts vs real-time charts. Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire could actually make 40c Monday And Tuesday. July 2019 also had v.high temps forecast from North London up to Lincolnshire/Yorkshire . Seems a repeat. Boiling hot air from France wafting over London’s UHI = then Cambridgeshire coming out with a new record temperature for the U.K.
  10. I’ve been in Southern Spain (Andalusia) for 2 weeks at 39c heat. With not a cloud in the sky. Highly doubt Mon/Tues will come without cloud. U.K. loves cloud cover & will do its best to overcome temperature extremes by high/partly/heavy cloud cover.
  11. A very on point post. This is the U.K.- tonnes of cloud associated with summer days. Need to go to the Med for clear blue skies.
  12. Cambridgeshire … 2019 vs 2022? Northern Home Counties (Herts, Beds, Bucks, Cambs) in the running.
  13. Milky white skies invading from the North West Ni on impossible to get a clear sunny day nowadays
  14. Will the 12’s pair up to the 06z model and yesterday’s charts, keep a real possibility of 38.7c being beaten? Meto amber extreme heat warning that has just been issued along with the continued media play out to the general public of potential record breaking heat is an eyebrow raiser for sure.
  15. Countryfile forecast from Nick: “high Pressure building back in for Thursday” Friday - “temperatures could be heading up again” Weekend “Temperatures could be in the form of extreme heat” “there is concern that 38.7c maxima is under threat, although a lot of things have to come together for that to happen, but just putting it out there there could be extreme heat for southern areas next weekend” Nick Miller**
  16. Beautiful summers day today. Tomorrow looking good. Lots of cloud Forecast for Tuesday so despite BBC forecasting 32c I highly doubt it. I have never experienced 32c in this country without strong sunshine. Mid to high (Ish) twenties rest of week with a possibility of a warm up again by next weekend. Drink water, put on a fan and you’ll be fine.
  17. What promised a clear blue sky this morning has tonnes of high cloud rolling in from the west. Seems impossible to get a clear blue summer sky nowadays.
  18. 7 days away. 8 days ago it had temps hitting 37-38c in the SE for tomorrow. Reality = 31-32c forecast for tomorrow.
