Everything will be fine
Rain on Saturday, turning to Sleet and then a period of Snow into Sunday!
Even Thinon agrees with this surely ??
To a limited extent
-
Just a quickie - Dont feed the trolls and they will quickly find other places to Inhabit!
Thinon all I have seen is posts from you trying to get a reaction, thankfully nobody is biting.........yet.
Can you please explain to us meteorologically speaking why you think it will be all sleet ?? I would like you to tell us why the evaporative cooling process will not occur overnight into Sunday morning.
I await your response and some charts to back up your way of thinking please!
Are you questioning my meteorological credentials? Tut tut. We'll definitely be returning to this soon enough.
'Troll' is a bit harsh for someone with 102 posts in 8 years but thanks for the feed anyway.

Gillinghams chance gone from 90% to low 20's
Not really, they're still two point clear of Port Vale

This summary sums it up quite well for me http://www.metcheck.com/UK/

Whats a hoo hah?
Wintry showers
-
Sleet for the weekend, bright but chilly next week. So why all the hoo-hah?
-
So what's all the hoo-ha with the 12z GFS run if it's showing sleet and some light snow?
-
What is it with this country? Our winters are not cold enough and our summers are not warm enough! Four seasons? We only have one long boring season all year round.
-
12 cms of snow in the middle of a severe Europe-wide cold spell reduced to nothing in barely a day and a half. Only in England.
-
In all my 26 years I can honestly say I cannot recall a significant snowfall which is followed by another significant snowfall, without any thaw in between.
Come to think of it I've never witnessed a significant snowfall without a considerable thaw within 1-2 days of the event.
Is it too much to ask? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Precipitation to the west of london building up once again. london could be in for even more.
Also, anyone in the northeast inner suburbs/outskirts of inner london (i.e. walthamstow/leytonstone) got an estimate of the latest snow depth? Too late to go outside myself now.
6 inches when I checked an hour ago

In recent years Peter Cockroft has become increasingly anti-snow. Even on Wednesday night he advised of only a 10-20% risk of snow for the weekend. We'll find out a lot about him in the coming 24-48 hours

Ahhh looking forward to opening the window on Sunday morning... the good old smell of mud, moisture and greenery whilst we sip the Sunday cuppa
-
theirDo you have to keep pulling people up on there spelling mistakes, its pretty rude and slightly annoying
-
It's difficult to get overly excited about this event knowing that any snow will virtually have disappeared by Sunday afternoon/evening.
-
Sorry to be a pain, but are we discussing the weather potential or how to shop at Asda?
-
Answer: Lack of mud when walking the dog.
Hmmm that's what summer is for
-
Quick question: What use is a cold snap without proper snowfall?
-
What do you guys think about Wednesday, surely it will be too warm????
Even during the worst cold snap for 30 years, it was still often 'too warm'
-
saw the thaw coming and even they didnt think it would start for another couple of days. Quite amazing that nature can have the last laugh..
Why does it never happen the other way round? Like expecting almost nothing and ending up with a shock snow storm.
-
I'm hoping the Met Office predict a very long period of mild weather coming in from the West, as this would imply that another big-freeze is just around the corner.
-
Thaw blimey

Yes I can't remember the last time a Countryfile forecast correctly predicted Friday's weather

Saturday event became Sunday, Sunday became Monday, Monday became Monday night, Monday night has become Tuesday.. It happens every winter, no wonder people lose faith!
