  1. And a big jump in the CET tomorrow looks on the cards, surely 8.4, maybe 8.5c. Am I being OTT?
  2. Yes indeedy, lots 19's & 20's around now a lot further north and west than was expected too, Gravesend now 22c according to the Met Office site!
  3. London and Leeds ensembles for GFS 06z, looking remarkably dry and pleasant, more changeable and possibly colder as we head towards Easter. (21c at Gravesend @ 1pm, not all that far away from here.)
  4. A lot more sunshine around again than was expected by GFS and its turning very mild, 18c widely in South & East Anglia, 19c achieved already at Woburn.
  5. That would not surprise me in the slightest. Just as we are all looking for mild weather, expect upgrades for a cold easter, still lots of cold air around.
  6. Yes its certainly looking that way, Arpege showing some 20c's now with what looks to be hazy/broken cloud cover .
  7. Interesting that the high res 18z HIRLAM is showing 19c in quite a few locations tomorrow afternoon, not just around London and East Anglia. So we could in fact see the 20c breached quite widely by the end of the day, I find HIRLAM to be pretty good personally.
  8. GFS was out by 3/4c the other day in many places when the sun came out when it was showing more cloud around, could well happen again tomorrow. I'm expecting mainly cloud but some sunny spells/hazy sunshine during the day so 21c looks likely to be hit where the sun comes out.
  9. We actually got a 20c today, and of all places it was recorded at Aviemore!, with Aboyne hitting 19c again, can't see temps as high as that for some time to come in Scotland. ECM looking good for early April though.
  10. Looking good to me, can confirm that its very windy down here but lovely warm sunshine. Met office website have your location Camborne Devon on 16c at 12 noon, thought that was the highest temperature so far but in fact we have 16c at Aberdeen and 17c at Aboyne. Incredible to see how far out GFS was, I expect that its under estimating the strength of the sun.
  11. How very true, in fact I can't remember the GFS having been as bad as it has been of late, UKMO/ECM have their off days too of course, but GFS is almost always playing catch up. At the end of the day and only in my humble opinion, in this battle between the Frostys, the winner is the frosty that predicted SUNNY weather.
  12. Its already 10, 11, 12c in many places so we will probably end up a lot higher than what the GFS are showing, I think that west Wales might be the place to be this afternoon. Got one of my mates stag dos today, clay pigeon shoot, up the pub for 4pm, then a curry later tonight, it's just as well that he never asked for my advice in picking the day with best weather so far this year.
  13. It's going to be the night temps that are going to make a big difference from now til the end of the month, much lower than last week. In fact I surprised to see a 0c already recorded at Benson and 1c/2c's in a fair few locations in the Midlands and towards Wales earlier on this evening.
  14. Yes its impressive, and most of the upcoming cold spell will end up in the Atlantic just for a change, not the north sea, I can't see much of a drop. Things warm up again with HP at the end of the month, so who knows where we will end up, maybe a bit higher still.
  15. Highest official reading just in, 18.8c at Kew, so that should be the warmest day temp so far this year. I don't think that we will be getting anything close to that for some time now as things look like cooling down a fair bit, maybe not until April.
  16. Looks like we are going to take the number 10 slot for mildest 1-15th March.
  17. I make you right there blinking typical. I have suspected for some time that we will get a cold easter this year, and a cooler than average April/May.
  18. Although not in the CET zone, 19c was breached around here this afternoon and I would not be in the bit surprised to see a 20c high somewhere. 8c+ looking likely tomorrow.
  19. Big jump there 0.4c, I'm surprised that we are so high already. With 3 more very mild days to come, should be well over 8c by the end of this week although night temps look to be getting a bit cooler as the week goes on.
  20. 6.4c is high for early march, I noticed a fair few 17c's around the SE today, 15/16 in many other places, first time out for me in the sunshine in just a tee-shirt but not in shorts...yet! More of this sort of weather next week on the cards, could be a very mild march coming up.
  21. That is until it introduces an easterly and a scandi high again on its 00z run. And at D10 of course.
  22. Yes cold end to the run, not from the East as per 00z, but from the North West this time. Turning milder then a lot colder mid month, with sunshine and scattered wintry showers blown in on a brisk West/Northwesterly wind.
  23. Hold on a sec, no, turning colder then is it, northerly coming up? Here we go again!!
  24. Just as I had convinced my self that GFS has become no better that a cannon fodder model, ECM turns up with its flip flopping all over the place 12z. So turning milder as per this T168 chart then is it, are we sure now?
  25. Like trying to get blood out of a stone, that cold air has made it all the way to almost clipping the east coast, and then its gone, how many times have we seen that before then? Anyway I am just going to observe from a far for now.
