  1. *Ahem*....lol..........providing of course you don't want any future posts being deleted on sight...lol
  2. some of the usual glass half empty posts in here....The pitfalls of taking one model run as difinitive....Monday's event has not 'gone' at all!.....Monday is still seveal days away, who knows what's going to be happening by that time
  3. yep....new thread here ----------------> closing this one now
  4. Okey Dokey, it's what you all been waiting for....yes, after ages of waiting around, hoping and praying that things would change this winter....Well, they are, reports of white flakey objects falling from the sky are imminent......So with that in mind, and after all that waffle, here's a new thread for you all... Old one here ------------>
  5. morning ladies & gents.....new thread coming shortly
  6. morning all....and how is everyone today?.....model outputs look peachy for snow, especially for the north and east of the region
  7. here you go...enough models to sink a battleship..... http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/cgi-bin/expertcharts?LANG=en&CONT=euro&MODELL=gfs&VAR=prec
  8. you must have typed incorrectly, as the word you used definitely wasn't 'shut'
  9. to be fair, I can remember plenty of winter episodes in the past where the NAE didn't cover itself in glory, hi-res or not....I prefer the NMM personally
  10. Very exciting times for our region looking at the GFS12z rolling out....T123-132 are beautiful charts, a shortwave sending energy SE wards to the west of the UK, a good looking undercut, possible heavy snow if that verified!
  11. yep....very interesting at T123...look at that trough/open LP sliding SE to the west of Ireland, an undercut is on the cards....and the subtle differences in the earlier time frames lead to big differences at T123 06Z gfs 12z GFS subtle changes highly amplified later in the run
  12. 12z NMM & NAE hi-res charts roll out in a couple of hours (NMM 17z), best to check back then, as they'll be progging PPN charts up to 12z Saturday by then
  13. Fear not my man...da da daaaaaaa...It's Captain Trollcrusher here.....any sign of that, and the dreaded Finger of Doom â„¢ will pay a short, sharp trip to 'Deleteland'....lol
  14. just for fun... ** Very Important Read **..... **Model Output Discussion thread summary for the morning of Thursday 11th Jan 2013** It might rain, it might snow It might be mild, it might be cold It might be windy, it might be calm It might be an easterly, it might be a south westerly The GFS is gospel, the GFS is blasphemy I'm now schizophrenic, and so am I!

  16. hey there....that's a nice looking chart you've got there, care to elaborate?
  17. you might want to re-read Ian's post again........they do use GFS modelling as well as numerous other modelling for analysis
  18. just a general reminder to all members in our thread....If you're going to post in the Model Output Discussion please make it relevant and on topic, otherwise it will be binned, and means more work load for the snowed under (no pun intented) moderating team.....ta!
  19. Yep, it started raining in Falmouth around 3pm, changed to sleet/grauple after half an hour or so, so it was time to leave or so I thought, got about 10 miles up the road and it was a white-out and that's how it stayed until the early hours...The Police services in the end managed to get a patrol car up to where we were and they had a tea urn in the boot, which was gratefully recieved by all of us standed motorists!
  20. ...and it was a Cornish only event....When the A30 finally opened (at 3am!) we finally got going and by the time we'd got to Plymouth there was not a trace of snow, they'd had just a little drizzle!
