  1. Bold call - I'll eagerly await the transition. Hope you're right and that its position favours the UK Still chance IMO of slack SE and battleground scenario....familiar story but hopefully not.
  2. There's celebrations in here like its a D2 chart. It's D8-10. Yes the charts look great, it's exciting and trending well for cold lovers, especially after the last few weeks, but some caution at this timeframe surely?
  3. My close was thick frost at 3am then I got up at 6 and it was wet everywhere and a bit of fog. Strange night
  4. I said exactly the same about a similar chart a few weeks back and a mod deleted my message. That's the nature of this place. I appreciate the humour :-) Chart related (in case big brother is watching) those SW's are from almost off the chart
  5. Not even close to getting snow here. I'm currently at 200m and it's all rain. Still a bit of snow on the ground though
  6. What's SSW? Keep seeing it but don't know what it is? Thanks
  7. Just taking a drive around and there's still lying snow down to around 40/50m. This'll be the 3rd day. That's pretty impressive really. I've still got about 1/2 to 3/4 inch on the grass and my road is still partially snow/ice covered in places
  8. Thanks. I guess if we get a low pressure under the high we might be able to get snow that way. Or some showers coming in off the north sea as sea effect. Hmmmm interesting times. 1000 times better than last year.
  9. So if next week comes off are we looking at much more snow potential or is it just cold and dry?
  10. 8 days out? does likelihood of models forecasting cold improve, when its cold already or is it same regardless?
  11. Assuming the radar isn't over playing it. I find that in these snow situations sometimes the radar will say there's heavy snow and its very light outside. Like virga
  12. Where the snow came down so heavy it cooled the roads so quickly and turned to ice underneath and snow settled. Cars where physically unable to get up the hill. Saw many spinning their wheels not moving.
  13. Managed 4.5cm on the car. About 3cm on path. Not bad really
  14. Thanks. Just debating whether to drive to work from north Kent to London
  15. Do we know what time snow is expected for the SE tomorrow and whether totals might be similar to today or more?
  16. Some roads blocked here in north Kent. Top of blue hell hill (600ft)..not going anywhere.
  17. I think a westward shift now = settling somewhere in the middle later. We'll see. What a time to be a model watcher :-)
  18. Was just thinking all this fog reminded me of late '86 and we all know what happened in '87...
  19. Took these pics on the way home from the pub last night. Walked into my close and thought it had snowed the frost was so thick.
  20. No but warm spells followed by extremely cold spells happen. Dec 86- Jan 87 is one that jumps out. I'm happy to have just a week not a whole month
