  1. Priceless, as we transition from Spring into Summer, guess what folks, things are set to get warmer...
  2. Could reach 20 odd degrees next week, when's the last time that happened in June?
  3. Apparently there could be some summery weather at the start of ... Summer! 😉
  4. Well while not quite putting lipstick on a pig, nothing to get too excited about. In fact I'd put money on this summer not being a scorcher, distinctly average will be the order of the day I think, yes some warm days, even hot at times. Just can't see it being remembered for heat...
  5. Still the promise of early spring warmth (bit late for that now), now being pushed backed to next week, which will be 8 weeks by then if it materialised. Even then temps will be around average, hardly exciting. Until then it looks rather cloudy over Easter weekend with temps somewhat depressed.
  6. Been promises of early spring warmth since middle of Feb - still waiting...
  7. Well Spring has arrived, albeit very windy and chilly, and plenty of snow for some, looks the theme for the week. Then possibly warming up a bit at the weekend - Spring warmth shocker!! They'll be talk of heat in summer next
  8. Well, not a lot has changed since I last looked, spring still looks a long way off. Roll on 21st June!
  9. Spring feels a long way off today, perishing out there. Then we can look forward to the Great British summer, wind, rain, a mini-heatwave and a thunderstorm!
  10. Snowing nicely now and settling on grass only for now, but that will change...
  11. Pouring with rain, a few days ago some were saying dry, like a Damn monsoon at the moment. Tempted not to go for that run...
  12. If you mean end of the matter with regard to the METOs view of the situation then yes, other than that it doesn't put the end to anything.
  13. I believe that was one of two options knocker, but of course you wouldn't post the other now would you? Merry Christmas to you too!
  14. Oh dear, yes 'normal', 'average', call it what you will, in December that equates to cold doesn't it? Well I've been putting a coat on every day anyway... Fine start to winter as far as I concerned, temps have pretty much been in single digits with frosts at night, currently -2 outside - cold in my book. Cold, dark and damp, what's not to like? Models continue to show the same theme for now, with the odd milder blip, long may it continue. Whether it turns into something more interesting, only time will tell.
  15. Interesting that you should cherry pick that tweet, haven't seen you post any where he refers to cold
  16. knocker, is there any chance you could put a little more detail in your posts please, one/or a few words and a chart doesn't mean an awful lot to the less knowledgeable amongst us? Cheers
  17. Not sure any of it really matters, one or two rather hung up what is only the weather after all. Have had 7 decent winters on the bounce since 2006/7 and 3 of those were excellent (referring to my location). This one looks like it will have been pretty rubbish, but 1 in 8 is pretty good going to be honest. Still time for something of interest yet anyway...
  18. I think you miss the point shed, this is a weather forum/thread for amateurs if I'm not mistaken. It's not a COBRA meeting, the authorities and emergency services receive their warnings/updates from the METO and others(as we have here) so that planning and preparation can take place. Which is best done by the professionals, what will be will be, all that can be done is to warn/prepare people. This constant jibing of those chasing snow in January god forbid is wearing a little thin!
  19. Utterly baffled by the same old posters saying winter won't deliver, and an island where it is notoriously difficult to get cold/snow, yet you keep coming back supposedly looking for cold charts...
  20. I would have thought this is self-explanatory, if it appears wrong to Steve, one would assume a professional forecaster can interpret alongside all the other output and in this case perhaps giving this gfs run a little less credence.
  21. Indeed, first tentative signs of something interesting. By the end of the week/into next week could be some eye candy to look at...
  22. I believe the police are looking at evacuating 9000 homes in Norfolk, if that isn't already underway.
