  1. Cloud definitely a problem, feels like a mini breakdown has already occurred. Moderate cool breeze and drizzly rain most of the day, pretty NON-EPIC.
  2. BBCforecastr also said the humidity next week will test the mettle of even the hardiest of heatwave lovers. Doesn't bode well for the vulnerable by the sounds of it.
  3. That was the national BBC forecast 45 mins ago, take it up with them. Showed a fair chunk with 18c, the point being it won't be very warm in those areas, let alone hot. No disrespect, but that's the difference between professionals and amateurs with limited data.
  4. High teens for a vast swathe of the eastern side of the UK this weekend, so neither hot nor very warm, in fact feeling rather cool given recent temps.
  5. Indeed, thought it was clear - therefore maybe too progressive and may turn out to be moreso. Met have described as a 5 day heatwave thus far. Comparisons with 76 are frankly ridiculous, nothing like it, some obviously weren't there. Hasn't been too hot for me so far, although I think my 3 week old disagrees, as I suspect do many elderly folk.,
  6. Not quite 40c or continuation of the heatwave as some have ramped up, the time machine must have visited another dimension. The models have intermittently hinted at a breakdown occurring from around the 21st. The wheels of that seem to start turning around the 23rd. Still FI and by no means guaranteed, but the models do seem to be firming up on the idea.
  7. Hopefully some ferocious storms will get sparked off soon, its been a while...
  8. I may have a moan when we get some heat and humidity, thus far it's been the most comfortable heatwave I've ever experienced! Especially in the evenings, its been very comfortable here.
  9. It really is a shame that all the model output can't be discussed, without those simply saying what the models show being jumped on, and told 'no the heat is here to stay, like it or lump it'. Various runs have hinted at a breakdown, simple as, whether and how it verifies is another matter, as is whether there is any continuation of hot weather.
  10. It hasn't been one model though, although ECM less keen on it's latest run, but that will change on subsequent runs, for better or worse. As for the comment further above, all output is up for discussion.
  11. Same here, misty start, still fairly overcast/hazy with a gentle breeze, not exactly on the coast either...
  12. Indeed, as has been said, ECM and GFS have been hinting at a change around the 21st/22nd for the last few days.
  13. It will change soon enough, only has to be wrong in the early stages and the rest is wrong. At least the cloud and cool breeze has gone, we have had no heatwave here, despite what some think. Days getting shorter gathering pace now, soon be looking forward to autumn days...
  14. Lordy, temps in the mid to high 20s in the middle of July. You'd think it was November the way some bang on in the model thread!
  15. And of course they could show something different later today or tomorrow. Subtle changes can make all the difference...
  16. Too much imbyism in the model thread I think, had a few warm days in the low to mid 20s, high of 17 forecast tomorrow, rest of working week not much better, then possibly a change into next week...
  17. It ought to be, I'm not one for heat, but it hasn't been that hot or uncomfortable here. Not quite like previous heatwaves I recall. As for 26c being epic - really?
  18. Indeed saw some nice pics of the sunshine down south, that's why some should be careful about making statements of how wonderful it's been for everyone. Again, was a dire weekend here, with daytime temps down on what they should be, and dull grey skies.
  19. Blimey, I've read some rubbish in the model output discussion lately, best start to June for years?! I can honestly say it's probably the coolest start to June I can ever remember! I don't recall having to put a fleece on come 7/8pm in the evening, would expect to be sat out with a bbq and a cool beer at 10pm at this time of year. Sat outside a pub in Norwich today it was chilly in the wind at 2pm. Now the azores high is going to stay with us all summer apparently
  20. I think you have rose tinted glasses on, 14c isn't warm (max here today) and in the evenings it's chilly by 7/8pm. The outlook into next week doesn't look great - that doesn't write off the rest of summer, but I know where my money is...
  21. Couldn't agree more mushy, I was thinking this afternoon, this has a very strong sense of deja vu about it. A quick scan of the output as you say, shows little precip down this way, and there hasn't been a lot for quite a while. I know where I'd be putting my money...
  22. Imho they don't, in the same way that I like food, but there are plenty of types that I don't, I'm also a sports fan, but don't particularly care for golf or cricket. It's a good job the coldies do flock to the forum in winter, otherwise advertisers wouldn't be interested and we might not be able to access for free!
  23. Dear BBC, stupid woman on weather said not settling to low levels, well at 8m above sea level, curious as to what the nearly 2 inches of white stuff is out side, epic fail on their part again! I wonder what constitutes low level?!
  24. As could those expecting any warm spring conditions! Temps close to freezing by day Monday, in a bitingly raw wind, delightful!
  25. Funny though, snowed in central london every day for last 4 days in this 'completely dry' easterly. Had a little at home by the sounds of it, with our friends in the NE doing slightly better still.
