  1. You nuts? Last week was glorious, this week cold and sh*te.
  2. 28.3C at St James Park at 14:00 - will the April record go?
  3. Touching 27C here. 80F will be broken somewhere in Greater London for sure...
  4. I can report that sightings of a strange round yellow thing have been observed above the skies of Raynes Park this evening.
  5. ECM Control looks tasty - channel low at days 6-7. Possibly a foot of snow in the capital (yes that's a ramp!).
  6. ECM significant snow across central areas Tuesday night into Wednesday.
  7. Yeah - it was a case of close but no cigar for south London. The December event was awesome for North London northwards - probably the big snow event for the region.
  8. Feel your pain and many on here have echoed your sentiments. It’s been a 5+ year for lying snow for me so yes it’s been poor. When will a winter deliver heavy and widespread snowfall for the SE?
  9. On my way to work in Central London from SW London. Looks like a general 1-2cm cover. As I said yesterday, a very poor return compared to just about every other region in the UK. Just goes to show how unlucky we have been with this mini-beast.
  10. Another 1-2cm this evening though it really struggled to settle on roads/concrete. People have mentioned much higher ground temperatures due to the relatively warm previous week as the primary reason for this - can folk confirm this? Anyway, temperatures on the rise here and legitimate melting of the snow is now occurring. A good cold snap (both beasts) - best since January 2013. 0.3C
  11. Heavy snow in RP but frustratingly not settling on roads / concrete @ -1.1C.
  12. Moderate snow RP Settling on most surfaces (bar road/pavement) -0.3C
  13. My comments were kind of tongue in cheek. However, the aggregate accumulation from the last two events here is just 6cm (4cm and 2cm). That’s a poor return from what on paper were amazing synoptics. For parts of south London, January 2013 (frontal event) for example was much better.
  14. Forget easterlies guys - they have not produced for us (cf rest of the country) - our region has fared very poorly. Next year, look for sliders - that’s the future!!!
  15. No - they got the SE warning completely wrong. Look at the geographical spread of the warning area - it mirrors streamer like activity. There was no steamer and they got a bit lucky in the western part of the warning area due to the wave disturbance from the south. All in all, they (and a lot of the NWP) were wrong.
  16. Got fooled into thinking this will be a Feb 2009 redux - should have known better! The cold pool continued to get corrected further north with each modelling suite - the writing was on the wall.
  17. For those who are interested, the extended EPS show significantly colder than average weather right through the end of March and early April. As I keep saying to myself, if only this was January!
  18. HIRLAM is wrong early doors - shows snow over London at 8am and it's bone dry! Radar watching and good old fashioned looking out of the window are the foolproof methods.
  19. Yep, very quiet and dull. Normally there's a street party in every corner in Brighton!! Also, a tiny bit of snow!
  20. Really pleased for you. Often in easterly type situations, the west of the region hardly gets any, Anyway, hope when we all come back next winter, we get proper frontal snow that encompasses the whole region and we'll be splitting the difference between 20cm and 16cm rather than 8cm and 0cm!
  21. Temperatures here have shot up to 0.3C but no drip drip. Looks like less cold air is encroaching.
