  1. Just shows the snow lottery at work. I only got 2cm or so.
  2. Again, we have been pretty unlucky viz. that cold pool. Modelling corrected that north in the run-up. But again, beggars can’t be choosers and some folk in our region have had two lying snow events in the last few weeks - that’s impressive.
  3. Nothing much here - about 2-3cm but still very impressive for mid March. 0.1C
  4. Not been great here in SW London. We have continuous light snow for many hours but not amounting to much of a covering.
  5. Sadly I can't see any southward movement of the precipitation. It's going pretty much east to west to me. Someone with better eyesight, please confirm.
  6. Snow still light here. Looks like the interesting stuff is to the north and east of me BUT the night is still young! Let's review a bit later but I can't see this being a Feb 2009 redux to be honest. -0.8C.
  7. Nuisance value snizzle over the last few hours here amounting to little (though my decking is now sugar coated!). I think we need to be patient - the amber warning area looks about right to me and this is now being reflected in the latest radar returns. -0.6C
  8. Yep but the big impact there is south London - Feb 2009 redux (I bloody well hope so!).
  9. Things are actually moving faster than predicted. This evening is now the main focus.
  10. ...but remember the real action is meant to start this evening (as per amber warning). Snow lighter now in RP but temperatures stubbornly refusing to go below freezing. 0.1C
  11. Nick - do you think there is a better chance of covering roads/pavements/concrete after dark (given the snow)?
  12. Moderate snow continues in RP. Most surfaces bar concrete/pavements/road and my decking has a slight covering now. 0.2C
  13. Moderate snow in RP. And yes, it's started to settle on cars (just the soft tops mind!)
  14. Elevation makes a huge difference - I used to live in Purley - bet it's settling there!
  15. Snizzle transitioning to light snow. No settling here (on any surface). Just not cold enough (yet). 0.9C
  16. Snizzle continuing. No settling. 0.9C. Radar confirms North London is getting hammered now. North London crew - can you confirm?
  17. Oddly temperatures on the rise here. 7.5C after hitting a “low” of 6.7C 30 minutes ago.
  18. HIRLAM is brilliant for London, APERGE not so good. Guess it will come down to good old fashioned radar watching.
  19. Temperature watch: 8.1C (heading in the right direction!)
  20. If only - it’s also quite possible we will have a raging PV over Greenland and a ridiculously positive NAO. Anyway, that’s a long way off (though getting into CFS range!!!).
