  1. Only just passed that today at 24.5c as it`s gone cloudy.
  2. Temps did drop to 7.7c here so 1.3c lower than the last cool night this month that making that the coolest July night here with maxes looking a touch lower to yesterday perhaps.
  3. Made 21.4c in april and 24.1c June 11th but on my old mercury thermometer it hasn`t got above 20c yet which is very unusual makes 23-26c on a normal summer as a rule..don`t know why those always read temps lower but it is under a tree, and I did make 31c last year on it!!!
  4. Oh yes wrong chart. I`ll post this instead not much difference by the looks of it.
  5. It does look rather chilly monday night. I`ll believe that when I see it..9.0c is the lowest I`ve had so far this July be interesting to see how low it does get to drop the CET down aswell with sunny days it`s like a cold HP in winter.
  6. I maybe punting a little lower than I want at 16.7c but August will be much drier to recent months hope... but not necessarily overly warm with how cool/wet July has been and the soil is sodden with everything saturated or flooded,so cooler nights are very likely under clear skies with it been damper more dew. And the last time 16.7 was reached was 1906 so it`s overdue.
  7. Well that doesn`t surprise me how wet this summer has been the 80`s were nowhere near as wet as this summer and since friday I`ve recorded 4.2inches of rain which is totally crazy. :o Well the title of this thread says "when will the rain stop" well it`s stopped 3 hours ago no more proper rain here now for a week-10 days... a few odd showers light rain are possibly yes... confident you bet.
  8. Yesterdays damage after those heavy downpours. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/mid/6911303.stm Drier now with the sun trying to come out but even now cumulus are building up in a few places east and west under high cloud.
  9. These showers are still developing quite widely at this time of night around here to the west/NW/N with a couple of Tcu and a CB reminds me a little of one night in October 2004. Also had another shower here too.
  10. Hi Paul. Interesting thread. Well there`s no doubt that it`s the wettest summer I`ve ever seen and thats a fact and everyone else I know say the same and there`s a long way to go yet. It`s affecting everything around here farming is getting hit the worst though. 1988 was a cold wet summer but June was warm and settled there`s been no restbite at all now except the beginning of June. As for temps July 1988 was cold 14.7 CET now if this month comes close to that say 15c then that is some achievement after all the warmth earlier. Feb 2005 was a pattern change to me but last year made methink otherwise with too much record breaking heat but if we get a colder than normal winter or more easterlies/N-ly blocking and a lows tracking like this summer or even further south then maybe something is amiss. What is the max temp this summer so far and what about the 70s/80s max temp summer one for Mr Data I think.
  11. Had a couple heavy showers one was very heavy but not long lasting like those earlier, still showers west and SE but it actually looks drier to the south.
  12. It`s warmer here now and was sunny but there`s lots of Tcu`s shooting up south/SW into a CB as they`ve changed direction to a more S-ly direction it could turn thundery so more heavy showers to come this way wow!!!
  13. What`s the odds that this month maybe the coolest month since 1993/15.2c or even 1988!! 14.7c with only maxes of 19c forecast this coming week on countryfile, though that could change. Might aswell look for a cold July now. As was cold last night too.
  14. That`s another 0.5 inches rain from those heavy showers but no thunder and there`s still showers over the west but stopped here.
  15. And it`s the severn of all places those heavy downpours are heading into. Heavy shower here now I give up!!
  16. Showers are bursting into live now on the radar further north in Wales with that very heavy shower still in the south. Light shower here and sunny but dark clouds approaching.
  17. Yes the countryside certainly does not lie and the hay is getting flat here havn`t cut no fields yet and with yesterdays very heavy rainfall we`ve gone back many steps not forward as the ground is so so wet even walking on fields you mark the ground. And too see fields of hay and corn in floods by the severn is unheard of in summer as I`ve never seen nothing like it, ice age yes it`s making me wonder what is going to happen next. Now that is hard work being a sheep shearer.
  18. And some of the country is under flood water now aswell it`s going to take along while for all this to soak off now making the soil like late autumn/winter conditions which won`t help either. Little early for my guess yet as I want a warm August so I`m not sure what to go for and whether we`ll break out of this awful pattern.
  19. We had a S-ly tracking jet in summer 2004 as I remember the BBC showing the same thing then with the jet coming over us but it should be much further north towards Iceland. The we had charts like this during winter when we had a major pattern change of northern blocking and the return of the east winds. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/ra/20...00120050223.gif But this summer i`s relentless as the jet is stronger and even further south over torwards Spain at times with lows tracking further south and not moving much which is why we`re getting much much more rainfall looks like it goes further north next week as lows over Scotland once again with strong W-lys. Maybe a sign of a colder winter to come if we`re on the polar side but who knows what`ll happen it`s really surprised me this year has since January actually.
  20. Been dry most of the morning now it`s just starting raining lightly as it looks to be gathering a little strength looking at the radar and coming in from the west.
  21. Well it`s stopped raining this morning and I have to say it`s the 2nd wettest spell I`ve ever seen with one autumn a few years back it was wetter but the ground was hard then,2.6inches altogether and the valleys are flooded especially the river severn, and there`s underground streams even in the fields and water everywhere as it`s soaking off big time. It will be a disaster for crops, even our damson`s are dropping off and going red. Tell me I`m dreaming!!!! http://85.214.49.20/pics/brack1a.gif
  22. It`s looking better on the lastest radar but it`s still raining here and it`s breezier and colder I don`t mind the cold part. 2 inches...wettest July day I`ve recorded now!!!!
  23. They forgot to mention a very S-ly jet is what`s causing this then. A very concering spell this is raining heavy here now and it`s not going to stop even into tomorrow. This summer is unprecidented.
  24. Saw Wales weather and it was very grim don`t know how the severn will cope from all this it was suppose to of eased off tonight but the rainband doesn`t shift just hope it fragments, now if this was winter we`d get 3 ft of snow.
  25. It is a real worry actually the next 48hrs are a major worry as this rain is not forecast to stop all night and tomorrow for Wales and other parts this is serious. there`s small pools in the fields now, seen water I`ve never seen in summer before.
