So whats happened to the weather front which was meant to be coming down from Scotland on Saturday ? -
It;s alright isn;t it Graupel, nice to have snow this morning and heavier snow this afternoon.

Game on, Beeb and MetOffice finally catching on to the fact that we always get heavy snow from easterlies in this grand old county of ours with mins not getting above freezing come friday with laying snow around from the thursday and saturday coming.

Of all the Easterlies i've known of in my 25 years of life, they always deliver! We never have less than say 10cm of snow as the hills just sap it all where i live. So i'm being optimistic for the easterly to deliver yet again.

Chucking it down here at the moment, I'll let you know if it has turned to the tops above Huddersfield later if PennineTenFootDrifts hasn't said owt.

Another foot of snow will do very nicely! MetO have changed there minds again with the long run forecast, back to heavy snow now right through till xmas.

I had but i was sent back because i missed our weather and your back chat :( I'm not overly fussed about the forecasts because i live in the hills haha.

Just a quick post on something i have noticed, The MetOffice "we're" picking up on the cold giving some early warnings on the 6-15 day forecast but they seem to of backtracked somewhat with only forecasting snow on the hills and 'not' to lower levels.....I just wonder why they are coming out with this when they we're saying it would be snowy especially when some we're saying by the saturday they would start coming out with what would happen. On the plus side they expect whatever falls to lay until Christmas.

Unofficially we had a foot of snow here in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire and on Look North news they we're live in Slaithwaite saying we had the deepest laying snow in Yorkshire. *not drifting* -
Haha it will rain next week now, Paul Hudson on BBC Look north has just said a cold easterly next weekend....When he usually mentions something it usually doesn't happen.

They usually only are ever 3day events anyway, wrong country for prolonged spells of cold. Rare.

Well a very nice morning here up until around 1pm, then all the dark in the sky invaded and it rained this afternoon, the odd shower now but more worryingly it is windy and i'm having a party and i have a gazebo up, i just up Huddersfield doesn't get bad winds tonight!!!!

Some wet snow but mainly sleet but it seems to be getting more and more wintery.

12 inches of snow last week and around two lots of 2 inches of snow before that would be classed as a very good winter for the South Pennines(Central North) of England....Scotlands ski resorts seem to of done pretty good as do Englands ski slopes and as a bonus the SW of england/Wales and briefley the SE have all had snow, infact is there anywhere it hasn't snowed in the UK?
