  1. Nothing at work in Moira however my childminder confirms that Carryduff is getting mullered.
  2. A very dissapointing day for me. Had some small snow showers but nothing much considering the precipitation that was offshore. Still the BBC weather forecast seems quite bullish about heavy snow showers in Eastern areas of Down so will just have to wait and see.
  3. Not only that, a strange orange ball has appeared in the sky, although it is still graupling at the same time.
  4. More widespread convection kicking off between the IOM and the East Down coast. Sky is darkening to the East, streamers are inbound. Currently light snow grains.
  5. The Jet Stream is powered by the Polar Vortex. The Stratospheric Warming has reduced the Vortex power and driven it on a more Southerly movement,
  6. Disagree Eagle. For me the trend of sliders and potential large snow falls continues.
  7. I thought it looked like picking up to the South of IOM, maybe dying out to the North which was giving Snowjon the Snowfest. The next half hour will tell all.
  8. Looks like the streamers kicking off between the IOM and Down are becoming more widespread. Snowjon, what's the report? Looks like North Down getting hammered?
  9. Well I'm a Dundonian born and bred. Left Dundee when I was 21 (40 this year ahhhh!!). Lived in Ardler most of my life. My mum and dad are divorced. Dad lives in Monifieth, my mum in the Hulltoon. Did well from yesterdays snow. 6/7 inches, still laying but I live at 400 feet. Streamers look like they are running out of puff.
  10. My Dad bides in Monifieth! To be honest, it looks like the streamers a dying off now, maybe another 1/2 hour or so unless they pick up again.
  11. Classic streamer for those catching it. Very narrow, but just keeps coming. Just caught the BBC weather and eastern NI continues to look well favoured right through to Tuesday.
  12. Catacol, I'm confused by your Phase 8 composite. I thought the best MJO phases for Greenland blocking were sectors 8 and 1? Surely if the MJO moves into a highish amplitude phase 8 then the chances of proper Greenland heights increase?
  13. Looking great over the North Down coast. It's amazing how localised these reamers can be. I've caught the edge with light snowfall but the streamer is beefy.
  14. Its all to the North of us at the moment, im keeping my eye on some disturbances in the Irish Sea though.
  15. That streamer is intensifying well, somewhere on its line of approach will get a good lot.
