  1. No change from the 12s. Bring it on. My only concern is that i get to work but cant get home. Im also meant to be out in Belfast tomorrow night.
  2. That was January 2008, that was me that copped it. It was very localised, this is much more widespread. You know somethings brewing when The Murrster pops in!
  3. Watcher How about a nice clean thread for the snowfest? Hoping that the precipitation is a little delayed so the cold air undercuts before it arrives.
  4. Whisky is much better than Whiskey! 20cm of falling snow, what will the drifts be like?
  5. Still no snow weather warning on The Met Office despite the text forecast saying snow.
  6. Thats the maximum temp in the 24 hour period, they will tumbling throughout the day.
  7. The signs were there from the 12z graeme. What amazes me is how poor The Met Office forecasters are. Clearly model led with no experience.
  8. Good morning and what a lovely morning it is. Im up early to get in the front of the queue at B&Q for a snow shovel. Looking forward to a major backtrack from The Met Office this morning.
  9. The BBC weather forecasts have not been changed to reflect the changing situation unless The Met Office are choosing to ignore the western shift and stalling of the front.
  10. I think that forecast is already out of date. Tonights 18z GFS and 18z NAE plus the 12z GFS and 12z UKMET have stalled the front over eastern NI and Western Scotland. Things may move more east again in the overnight runs but I don't see the snow reaching the East coast of Scotland.
  11. You did Pom. What a rollercoaster of a day's model watching. I've been up and down more times than a Union Flag over Belfast City Hall. ;-(). Who knows what the morning will bring, will probably push the precipitation back into the Atlantic!
  12. Updated at 10pm tonight :-) http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/#?tab=fiveDay
  13. Anyone watch the NI forecast after the BBC 1 news? Basically she was saying that yes there was weather warning for Rain on Friday but that it was coming up against colder air. For the moment it looks like snow for the hills, but stay tuned to the forecast!! She was not confident of that forecast at all. Nope, they can update them as when they feel like. They will probably wait until tomorrow though as they will have a further set of runs to peruse.
  14. I expect a complete re-write of The Met Office severe weather warnings is currently underway. People slagging off Met.ie but the UK Met are not convering themselves in glory. Seems they are too reliant on the model output and don't use experience to help with there forecasts.
  15. Have to say Nick, the Met Office will have to re-write the warnings based on the 12z and 18z runs, across the board the precipitation stalls in the west which is a great improvement for western areas. Have The Met Office become to reliant on the model output. Many on here have mentioned how fronts used to struggle east against a block yet it seems The Met Office have not considered it.
  16. Massive upgrade on 18z GFS!!! Front stalling, even snow for eastern ROI counties
  17. Well the 18z GFS has backed the snow much further West Snow showing for most of Ulster at 3pm on Friday.
  18. Im on mobile so havent seen it but the 18z NAE is further West again.
