  1. FRIDAY: Some brightness and some showers. Best of the Sunshine in the Channel Islands. Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 Answer the Poll about CCI Weather and our Forecasts on the home page (left hand side!) at cciweather.co.uk (Scroll down a bit!) 94 Followers @kernowweather
  2. Ahh right it could have been snow cover I was looking at. Nevermind. Anyway I wont clutter this thread up any more about Arctic sea ice.
  3. Well of course it would show an upward trend being 'Cumulative'.... Anyhow, I think that rainfall chart could look worse imo. Some rain bands now and again but more sunshine and showers inbetween im thinking. Yes the charts are rather unsettled right now but I find it frustrating how people think this is where summer ends already. Just a few seem to have that motive. A nornal summer will contain spells of unsettled weather. Who knows, Summer 2013 may go like the last few, it may not but lets leave that judgement to the professionals, not our gut instincts or pessimistic or optimistic minds. Aside from that, with Northern Blocking id expect these charts to continue to show unsettled weather for the next 2 or 3 weeks possibly. I wouldnt expect Northern blocking to just suddenly 'collapse'. Drifting a touch here I know but if this low pressure in summer is related to low Arctic sea ice, hasnt it been reported that in April, Arctic sea ice levels have been the highest for some years? I might be wrong and cant quite remember but perhaps its a reminder we are in the UK, we are not the Med, Low pressure, wind and rain is not uncommon even in an average summer etc.
  4. THURSDAY: Early sun then Rain and Possible Gales for Cornwall. Sunshine but breezy for Channel Islands. Late Gales. ***WEATHER WATCH FOR GALES*** http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/warnings/4573724904 Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 93 Followers @kernowweather
  5. Ahh gutted I missed this. Only got in about 30 mins ago and its clear here in Falmouth, Cornwall.
  6. Come on thats such a very pessimistic view. We cant expect a totally high pressure dominated summer. Look at May 2006!
  7. Yes just because we are seeing LP now doesnt mean its 'locked in' as some of the doom slayers will say. Who knows maybe it will last a while but imo, the long term signals dont support it from when I last checked. All part of normal proceedings as Stormmad26 above has shown!
  8. Hope this troughing isnt a sign for the summer but thankfully long range signals dont really point to this imo. Even normal summers will have spells of LP so no panic. But a shame Cornwall could never really enjoy the good weather recently. Some sunshine today but it was rather breezy. Not helped when you know home has been one of the warmest in the country at 22-24c! But Cornwall still beats home for its beauty! Hehe. Really want a BBQ though. Anyway, good vibes for the summer ahead I feel!
  9. Are you sure? That way over predicted temps. Wasnt 22-23c the highest?
  10. Well a much better than expected day here. Was expecting more cloud. Jersey upto 21c I see
  11. TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy for Kernow but some sun in the NE. Sunshine but clouding over for Channel Islands. 16-18c in NE Cornwall and Jersey Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 92 Followers @kernowweather
  12. Well I wasnt wrong about the fog here! Its really come in now. It looks like November here!!! Very autumnal look and feel. Now this I wouldnt have back at home at this time of year. Hehe.
  13. I'm stuck inside the library right now and the nearest window is quite a way but it seems like the fog has thickened up here from what I can see.
  14. Yes, only really southern cornwall coasts affected by the sea fog now. Particularly from Lizard Point, round Falmouth towards St Austell.
  15. The usual few moaning in here and again and im sure its no where near as bad as they make it out to be. And what hot spell? There was never a forecast Hot spell. Please read the forecasts. SAT24 shows Shrewsbury will be in the sun now if not very shortly. This is why I hate this regional thread. Its just becomes a place for moaners in the Summer.
  16. MONDAY: Sunny and warm but maybe some mist for Southern Cornish and Southern Jersey/Guernsey/Alderney coasts. Up to 17c for North Kernow and 19c in Jersey. Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 92 Followers @kernowweather
  17. I know you hate the sun, but if you want to see the price of your food raise, people lose their homes, some even killed then maybe you may want something slightly toned down.
  18. Brilliant day here in Falmouth again, with lots of warm sunshine. Tuesday isnt looking good and the first real wet day in a while. Still, the overall pattern isnt wet however. Hoping we can avoid the low cloud tomorrow here on the south coast.
  19. SATURDAY: Cloudy for the Channel Islands. Early cloud & rain for Kernow, then bright/sunshine for the afternoon! Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 91 Followers @kernowweather
  20. Haha right you are Cornwall not England. didn't go to the beach today as some cloud around lunch made me think it might feel cool in the breeze. But this afternoon has been great and so revised outdoors on the grass on campus
  21. Of course im not ruling any low pressure spells like that out. In fact that would be part of our normal summer! But I dont see the incessant low pressure that weve endured in recent summers.
  22. Another glorious start! Im going to be too sad whenever it rains again. However on the whole, the outlook for the next 2 weeks looks more dry than wet and I suspect there will be more days like today and the last few to come!
  23. I must say the charts going into the summer and the early projections for it are the best ive seen since 2006 imo. There are quite consistent signals imo for more blocking just to our North East esp June and maybe July thus far. Certainly no signal so far for a trough slap bang over us. After the last 6 summers we really do deserve a proper good one now. Not just ok though even that will suffice!
  24. THURSDAY: Lots of sunshine again but some more cloud for Cornwall and Jersey. Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 90 Followers @kernowweather
  25. What a glorious day once again. I noticed a little more breeze today actually but it was 100% non stop sunshine from sunrise to sunset. Falmouth and Cornwall really are stunning in these conditions. If you were dropped here without anyone telling you what country you were in, I wouldnt have said England. I would easily have said Spain, scenic wise. Of course we didnt have the heat but the sun has much warmth now. Tomorrow looks very sunny again though a bit more cloud but lighter winds however so may feel even warmer with 14-16c here in South Cornwall. 10-13c on the North coast though.
