  1. Charts like this are very rare in early May...wish I could check up tonight on historical data but have no time to do so.....but the cold continues ...I I would not be surprised for snow to appear even in southern Britain...in the following days....!
  2. Cold is the overall pattern ....and we greet May Brrhhhh. PS not much rain in southern Britain..this week ....but night time frosts and Wintry showers will see us into May....
  3. This is not unprecedented, or that unusual .......June the 3rd 1975 it snowed in some southern parts of Britain....! Looks cold next week...and into early May. ..
  4. I think next week Spring gets colder...it steps up a gear even some Wintry showers in the southern half of the UK.....
  5. Sunday into Monday and Tuesday enough instabilty from the Atlantic to create some beautiful and potent storms....Media forcasts won't nail this to the last minute....
  6. A very Blocked pattern but in the wrong place for warmth....lots of dry weather to come in the next ten days ahead ,Early next week potential for some slow moving perhaps severe thunderstorms for England and Wales in picticular. ...looking forward to the potential. ..!
  7. Snowed today with some Beefy April showers ,contrary to BBC forecast , even started settling ......April 2008 saw a dumping of snow about 3 to 4 inches on a Sunday morning very early hours here quite stunning to wake up too.....
  8. Snow showers in Evesham tonight, bitter cold wind ....
  9. Looking and scanning the Ecm and Gfs we are not losing the cold and dry weather for a good while yet....!
  10. The Artic plunge gets weakened down somewhat midweek , but gets renewed late week into the weekend . April showers are certainly on the cards this year , Wintry ones at that , but the overall theme remains the same drier than average but colder than average. .....!
  11. The chart you used shows strong Diurnal temperatures across most of the nation. I'm not sure you're Cool nights is the appropriate terminology in this case in all respect Subzero nights but warm sunny days....!
  12. Just scanning through the Ecm and Gfs and to be honest a Well below average first half of the month ,for temperatures, a well below average month for precipitation again first half ............really not good for Growers and gardeners and with some extremely low dew points the humidity will be ultra low as well in fact we have had some extremely dry air of late I can tell by my nose ..great Hygrometer!!! A very interesting Spring with some snow surprises too.....!
  13. The Dramatic drop in temperature suggest a polar Front ..they are rare to the UK especially in April we have to go back to Jaunary 2004 for anything like this....!?
  14. I think the Extreme cold charts from both Ecm and Gfs at this time of year would deliver snow at low levels..
  15. There is No Climate Crisis in Australia. ...The BOM have hidden all the data from the early 1920s to 1930s . Australia's Climatology is Drought ..Flood etc just like California . Overpopulation is the real threat ..?But main stream media climate change, global warming , greenhouse effect and the like.. have drummed this into people's head to be right ..? Let's go some where else. .....?
  16. A Sneeky warm up next week for some?..but the overall trend and talking point is how cold it's going to get next week...!
  17. Never an easy route to impressive cold in the UK after all its a complete reversal in our normal default southwesterly which always gives computer models some headaches. ...so still a strong hint of perhaps some exceptional cold for early April......
  18. I don't really see in all respect what the current charts are showing say anything about our forthcoming summer. If you look back at most of Spring 2007 it was mainly anticyclonic dominated with the Azores high in the driving seat warm and very dry overall....then came Summer 2007 ! Anyway March came in like a Lamb this year and models show the jet stream revving up and March going out like a lion, well perhaps a Tiger!
  19. Ecm , great outlook, Yes I'm cherry picking but the slack area of pressure in about T+144 will give us cold crispy nights and warmish days but with some instabilty, beautiful cloud scapes from towering cumulus clouds and some Thunderstorms too...That about sums up my thoughts tonight....!
  20. Ecm yes has a big change in synoptics but all things considered the colder weather from the East will be arriving from as early as Thursday and I expect there will be more tweeks tommorow . Unfortunately cold laden stratus clouds for southern areas later week north western Uk holding on to the best of weather. Looking further ahead a very Blocked weather pattern Friend or Foe ....we will have to see. ,!!!!
  21. In fairness I'm sure there was exceptional events way before that in non recorded history ., and at some point in the future it will happen again not if but when. I've learned something very valuable when it comes to weather never say never you always end up having egg on your face........!.
