You missed a brief bit of thunder hail / snow and the entire town centres of redhill and Reigate gridlocked as everyone panicked!
Currently 0.8 with dp of -0.8 at the grammer school - all that's missing is the snow!
However, and this is deep FI, but cold uppers returning west at 240 hrs ( the South East never having lost -5 air!)

This winter has certainly been better than last - we've had some decent frosts etc; it would be good to have snow though!

I do wonder what relevance these ensembles have now as they are based on the old GFS - is it like comparing the GFS op with the NAVGEM ensembles?
Does anyone know if the control is new GFS or old?
We can but it's rare - the thunder snow event of 28 Jan (?) 2004 was a direct northerly - I was in Plymouth at the time but my Dad in Horsham recorded 2.5 inches of snow in 90 mins from that!
