  1. Appalling day yesterday (the afternoon anyway), it felt more like a grim afternoon in November rather than a spring day, and today not much improvement. Overcast and very windy, and currently nudging 13c. So much for it warming up lol!
  2. More of the same rubbish. Feeling warmer, currently 10c and dry, but as has become the norm for us, overcast and grey with no indication that we will get to see any sunshine today. Depressing.
  3. The way this spring is panning out I think we will be lucky to top 12-15c this Sunday. Currently 6c, very overcast and grey, light rain and a light Easterly wind.
  4. 6c, very overcast with light rain and an Easterly wind. Can this Spring possibly get ANY WORSE!
  5. Another dull, overcast morning, misty and cold. 6c. Feeling more like an October morning than a spring one. Think we are stuck with this till September depressingly. This is how April last year panned out for us here and things never improved.... :-(
  6. This weather is literally driving me to insanity now, can't bear being stuck with this dull, cold overcast non-weather! The Easterlies are also pushing all the pollution from Essar Stanlow directly over the town so not only are we stuck with rubbish weather, we are also enduring a sulfurous stink day in and day out....please SOMEONE give me hope that some respite is on the horizon.
  7. Another depressingly poor "spring" day here, not climbing above 9c. Gloomy and overcast through the day, and still stuck with a foul Easterly pushing all the chemical pollution right over town. I'd even welcome some rain right now just a break from this monotony!!
  8. Incredible regional differences here, all of our snow (which wasn't much) has thawed, snowing today but very fine and not sticking. Drive 20 miles up the road to some of the villages lying on the Cheshire/ Flintshire border...cars still stranded and roads treacherous! One nasty side effect of the horrible Easterlies here is it pushes all the chemical pollution from Essars Stanlow Refinery directly over the town. The smell here for the last few weeks has been and is, absolutely nauseating. Surely this pattern can't go on much longer!
  9. Really getting me down this now. We haven't got any significant snow fall here, it's just a murky slushy mess now. Constant leaden grey, featureless skys for the past ten days, coupled with a biting easterly wind. Worst possible combination in my book. Lights on in the house and car headlamps on at 4pm. Can't take much more of this!!
  10. Wondering if we will see any of it here in Cheshire today. Light rain at the moment but has been fairly constant since about 8pm last night,
  11. Wow. Storm overhead! Where did this pop up from!! Torrential rain and CG's now. Heaviest rain I've seen in years
  12. I'm still in here. Six years and counting now for us. I have SEEN storms this year, but thats only because I've either chased them (10-15 miles or more) or travelled 300 miles and seen them on holiday. For actual storms in Ellesmere Port.............nothing. Yesterday was again a complete and utter joke. Saw the strike map and the Cheshire Triangle is still in force!
  13. This passed over Killiecrankie before. Some thunder but didn't really develop.
  14. This little number slid SE of Pitlochry, Perthshire about 30 mins ago. Some CG and thunder. I've seen more lightning and heard more thunder in this traditionally storm-less part of the country in a week than in ten years back in Cheshire! Says a lot! (apologies for the sensor-muck. Camera has had a tough week!)
  15. Just had a rumble of thunder and skys look threatening but TBH I think anything half decent is sliding off to my SE. Stuff over N Ireland looks good.
  16. still in Pitlochry, Perthshire. Deciding whether to put the old camera on standby.
  17. Unbelievable. i'm here on holiday in Pitlochry, Scotland (an area famous for not having many storms) having come from Cheshire (and a 6 year member of the NSC). And since Ive been here we have had 2 storms in 2 days. Just had this nice little cell spring from nowhere, some thunder and a few CG. Sun shining now but poss some more on the way. Shot on my cameraphone so quality aint great...!
  18. Winds are already picking up here (Pitlochry, Scotland). Can't see there being parachute jumping later (it's scheduled for 7.30 ish)
  19. Does anyone think that squall line will hold up until it reaches the Highlands area of Scotland (Perthshire specifically?) there is a gala at Blair Atholl a few miles away at around 7pm and there is going to be parachute jumping. Just wondering if we are in line for some weather....!
  20. I'm currently in Pitlochry in Perthshire, Scotland. Anyone got any ideas if that system is going to push this far north( Northeast-ish) into Scotland?? Looking at the direction from the animation on the radar I think its going to miss...
