  1. gfs giving everyone a christmas cheer with a big easterly trying to build in.A new trend beginning today, hopefully. Best time in early January to develop a deep-cold easterly to bring in lake-effect snow like in Buffalo.I wish
  2. D how credible are these people .GFS showing easterly trying to invade uk this morning BTW
  3. Why is ECM op always a mild outlier at the end, waste of computer memory, just stop it at 168hours Pointless it running any further
  4. Looking like a January 1984 repeat could be on the cards with cold zonality dominating. That was a very bleak month on the hills and severe conditions in the Highlands with 30ft snow-drifts on the Cairngorms and Nevis range of Mountains.
  5. Love that film and yes this event reminds me so much of it. What's the UKs record temp drop or weather events that have had sudden temperature drops.
  6. Heading upto the Scottish Highlands will be the only way to see some decent snow the next 10 days. Woeful away from there, just standard UK winter weather. Dull and boring.
  7. Wish we had extreme weather like this occasionally. Astonishing drop in temperature, does this match the record drop in the temperatures from many years ago. I can't remember the date
  8. No moderation from the sea that's why it's so cold in latitudes further South than uk in USA But that's way too cold, can't even go outside and enjoy snow at those temps. No thanks
  9. Rubbish performance by ukmo, if its that different every 12 hours how can you trust any of its output, fl is 96 hours at best
  10. Gfs just turning out synoptic garbage now. Until the earlier time frame is resolved then its pointless going any further. Never seen charts like it's showing at the 200 plus range in any of the archives on Metiociel. Utter crud.
  11. Minus 12 upper air into Northern Scotland.Snow showers piling up in the far North
  12. This week hopefully. The mild air taking control of the Winter weather over the UK and Europe has been persistent the past 35 years or so. So odds are most definitely against the cold coming back.To think no Januay since the late 80s has matched the cold of the past 10 days, shows how crud the Winters have become for cold and snowy weather. An utter joke a traversty and a load of bull that it has been so persistet the mild air winning out so often
  13. I think ECM is wrong, before the start of the current cold-spell it threw out a similiar mild run and it turned out to be miles wrong. Next runs were cold after that rogue run.Its been chucking out mild op runs for days, always at the top of the pack or a big mild outlier for not just UK but much of Europe.
  14. ukmo been plenty wrong at thhat timeframe before as have the other models to be fair At the timeframe being discussed more runs are needed
  15. posting charts 15 days ahead to make his point.Absolutely nailed on isnt it at that timeframe Ecm chucking out mild outliers day after day why should we believe anything being shown by any models, even 5-6 days is pushing it.
  16. Only time we get a decent snowfall if the wind remains in the N or E any other direction seems to screw it here. I'm done with chasing cold in the winter anymore like you. Waste of time here, warmer seas than previous decades have killed it here.
  17. What a disgrace the gritters are here, didn't come out yesterday despite gritting the previous days, only did the main roads. Obviously we missed the snow here again, but the sleety mix from yesterday has frozen and turned all the pavements and roads to ice. What am I paying 225 pound a month council tax for!!
  18. Same here, we always miss out here, just a few miles inland, snow of course. Any time the wind turns on shore it kills it here even though temps barely rose above freezing All its done that sleety rubbish crud from yesterday is turn all the roads and pavements to ice and no gritters last night despite coming on previous nights, an utter joke this council are. Still you cant beat living here in the summer TBH
  19. Back to usual UK winter crud weather it seems. Why should anyone be surprised. Enjoy the snow for those of you lucky to have some.
  20. Snow in Cornwall but rain further East? That looks wrong for a start, normally in these situations you get snow further East and sometimes rain in the far west in Cornwall, and they miss out. Never seen snow just in a Cornwall and rain further East throw that chart in the shredder.
  21. Back to talking about day 10 charts where nothing has even been resolved in the so-called reliable time frame. This forum sometimes..
  22. If the Met say they are uncertain of the track for several more days why do you think its nailed on when it's still 6 or more days away, so 100% the models have the track nailed-on according to you, no chance they are wrong?
