  1. Thought the amber warnings would go up once the high res models come into play,Think most the region will get buried by either lake effect snow on the coast and streamers for others We are nearly at the start line ,people
  2. Seem bit of downgrade from latest met update for the region regarding snow amounts till wed,
  3. Best thing about the South Downs is you can sledge away from the crowds where you always have idiots ruining for others ,you know the crowd I mean, hate it.
  4. gfs always too progressive with these set ups anyway it's really a usa forecast model why so many in the mad thread are obsessed with it is beyond me
  5. Anyone in Worthing area looking for sledges Tesco online still have them and you can pick up from Worthing stores or get delivered by Tuesday, don't know about other SE regions .just grabbed a couple,my kid doing back flips on the floor now we got a sledge FINALLY
  6. Friday will be a blizzard in SW first then maybe other Southern counties later that’s what I think anyway lol
  7. They are a joke, last night said disruptive snow showers now wintry shower Showers? wtf they smoking this metogroup,Avery must be tearing his hair out.
  8. not buying the Ecm idea of the low pushing in as fast as that at t120 at all, and pushing the bitter air away, its way too progressive, tends to do that when it doesn't know what to do,I've noticed in this model
  9. thanks for your analysis Knocker, think the track of this low pressure is going to give the met plenty of headaches over the next few days. looking at historic charts of similar set-ups,it's normally the SW that get hit hard first from these type of situation before other counties in the S get the snow ,or it stalls in the SW before retreating away Southwards. Most the models currently seem to want to push the low through fairly quickly and allow Milder air to win out. I believe the final solution will be a big West Country blizzard.lets see .
  10. hopefully big blizzard for you guys in the Sw end of the week, models slowly getting the track of this low correct.,used to holiday in Devon every Easter and summer in my childhood great memories, and got caught out in blizzard end of April 81 I think go through the archives of years gone by when bitterly cold Siberian air is over the UK and low pressure wants to move up from the SW ,nearly every time it ends up with the SW Being hit hard first before spreading across to other Southern counties before moving away S or the low pressure just stalls across the SW like 1978 in Feb and march 1891 bringing huge amounts of snow before fading S or the low pressure fails to make it far enough north in the first place. Met office seem to favour it spreading over the entire S before retreating away, hope this happens be historic for everyone then.most exciting week of model watching ever
  11. really think it's going to end up with an historic blizzard somewhere end of the working week, before retreating S.gfs always wants to push away dense cold air too fast ,known failure inits program, algorithm or whatever it uses
  12. models slowly working out the track of the low, still wrong at the moment, snow hitting the SW moving across to other Southern counties before dying away South or not making it far enough Northwards ,before heading S and bitter weather returning.met going with that scenario too.
  13. regional doesn't sound too exciting but when you read the general outlook for the next 5days it's much more exciting SERIOUSLY COLD it says, lol when has the MET ever said that in a worded text forecast before, with snow totals mounting up each day, disruption for many, best ever 5 day snow forecast i have ever read.
  14. the lake effect snow hasn't been picked up by the high res models yet would expect Jan 87 totals along the e and se coasts talking feet of snow not inches !,and many inland places joining in the fun as the strong and bitterly cold E wind increases through the week
  15. excited for end of week, either a big blizzard in the SW as the low stalls or it moves along the English channel and produces a big blizzard along the whole of the S,or it fails to make it and dives into France. the models are way off with the track at the moment ,look at the archives when we have bitterly cold Siberian air over the UK and low pressure attempting to move up from the sw or s it doesn't just crash into the UK and push away the cold air so fast as is being shown.expect major snowfall somewhere or misses S completely Cold air is dense and heavy, hard to push it away ,exciting times anyway before we know what's going to happen end of week with heavy falls of snow for some, with drifting and great sliding conditions, can't wait now, here we go Siberian beast is here very soon, can you believe it's happening folks after years chasing the Great Siberian High it's turning up in a few hours
  16. should be some excellent sliding conditions on the Downs behind my house as the snow will be so dry next week, can't wait, anyone else in the Worthing area want to meet up for a big slide next week
  17. 0.3 c here ,ground was still frozen in places yesterday here, despite temps reaching about 5c ,must be low dewpoints, not much snow is going to melt next week then if that's the case
  18. last BBC forecast I saw last night was ramping up the snow and talking about blizzard end of the week,Tomasz S was doing the forecast, for the week ahead. looked like the BBC had finally joined the snow party at last with that forecast one of the most exciting snow forecast i have seen from the beeb maybe the BBC forecasters have told meteogroup to go do one and they will ignore their guildlines of what to say on tv I know lot of them are very enthusiastic about this cold spell from reading their twitter feeds
  19. it's not a cold snap,it's a severe spell of weather with maybe record low temps for this time of year .if people think the models have the exact path of the low pressure system six days ahead well good luck to them
  20. if it turns the wind SE there's a chance south coast could get big dumping it happened Dec 2009 a streamer developed and dumped 6inches along south coast when wind backed se
  21. everywhere sold out of sledges ,guess it have to be tin tray !!!!!
