  1. I am still confident winter/ autumn will make up for the lack of rainfall and come November December when it is raining every day everyone will be wishing for the sun again lol. Anyway worrying times for next couple of weeks with heat and such dry ground will not take much to set off countryside fires
  2. 22.5 outside it actually feels quite cool to what iv been used to, heat building again in the next few days, wondering how hot it is going to get, with the ground so dry it’s not going to take much for temperatures to rocket
  3. Gfs hot all next week until at least Saturday on this run then 3 days of much cooler weather much cooler to what we have seen in weeks then a warm up but obviously this is 1 run and anything past the end of the week is likely to change
  4. Gfs looks hot next week up until Sunday, I would say uncertainty starts at the end of next week, but as usual it will still take a few days for models to get a grip of how long the heatwave will last and how hot it will get, wouldn’t be surprised if it follows the latest gfs run, something much cooler the following week but it is a long way off
  5. Well the metoffice app says I am am not going to see a cloud in the sky after today until at least after Wednesday, amazing summer we are having, I am sure we will get a hammering of wind and rain come late autumn winter time , if not we are in serious trouble
  6. This mornings gfs looks like the heat peaking on Friday then a return to average temps, really been chopping and changing on each run
  7. Should be some fresher nights coming up end of week, make the most of it as it looks like the heat is returning next week
  8. Another hot gfs run this morning, temps in the 30s for much of next week peaking on the Saturday 13th 35/36 for southern Britain according to this run Friday will be the coolest day at 24 degrees, got a feeling it’s going to take time to cool down this autumn
  9. Another hot run from the gfs this morning, several days low 30s and on 14th 39 degrees, heat goes on and on
  10. Crazy run days of mid to high 30s, days of very warm nights, must be a hot outlier in the ensembles
  11. 12z lots of heat, Tuesday Wednesday both 30c, then at least 3 days in the following week 30 + right in FI it cools down
  12. This does not seem BAU this summer, I am sitting in the garden, shorts t shirt, flip flops, it’s cloudy, it’s breezy yet it’s 24 degrees, heat is not done with us yet, those praying for rain, I would rather it holds until late autumn, one thing is for sure when it rains it’s going to rain hard and for months on end guaranteed.
  13. Cloudy very humid, sun not due to make an appearance until 17.00 can’t remember when the last dull day was here
  14. This mornings gfs, sees a warm up until Wednesday where 30c maybe reached in the south, it then cools down to the mid twenties, the warm up then starts from next weekend until the end of the run with high twenties possible 30 being reached
  15. not for me thanks lol I will happily wait until mid September for Autumn
  16. The 06z gfs run for the south is predominantly very warm and a chance of being hot FI what more can you ask for
  17. Last few runs have lost the idea of plumes, Tuesday the hottest day 31 rest of the time mid to high 20s very respectable but a lot to be resolved
  18. Are we going to do this again for 2nd week of August?
  19. Gfs shows a couple of hot days next week, then some very hot days the following week. This place is about to get very busy again soon
  20. If gfs 06z is right we have not yet seen the best of summer, Plumes of heat in the first 2 weeks of august, temps approaching mid to high 30s, will be interesting to see how future runs handle this and if we get support from other models. It seems to me gfs is good at picking heatwaves, the 40 degree heat the gfs was first to pick it up. If the 06z run was to be any where near the mark there will be serious problems with fires and will not do the drought any good. Interesting times ahead.
  21. 06z gfs run brings in a warm up, 34 in south east by 04 august, also some very warm nights first 12 days in august above 80 degrees will be incredible if run came off, drought problems looking likely in south east
  22. Lots of very warm to hot days shown on the gfs this morning, summer is shaping up well
  23. You know what will happen come October November onwards Atlantic storm after storm, global warming may mean stormier milder winters, drier hotter summers
