  1. I’m throwing in the towel. Disastrous year. Roll on spring 2022.
  2. I have to say I moan so much because my favourite time of year is April - early June (basically before the solstice) because once we stop gaining daylight, mentally I get a bit down about it. I love this time of year because we are still gaining daylight, the evenings are very light now and it’s usually pretty warm - however this year it’s just been non stop cold. It looks like my favourite period is going to be wasted this year right after the toughest year I’ve ever faced mentally. So I’m pretty downbeat about it all.
  3. Most disappointing spring I can remember. Looking at the charts it looks like we are stuck in this pattern forever. Hasn’t been warm enough for me to sit out in the garden yet and I’m still wearing my parka. You know the westerlies will return for summer big time with wind and rain. Could be the foulest year imaginable this.
  4. Looking decidedly average (maybe a touch below) for the remainder of spring. Lets hope summer delivers.
  5. Would take westerlies over this. At least we would get some April showers/convection/no cold wind/rain for the plants.
  6. Eurgh the future doesn’t look bright. it’s starting to look like the ‘warm/light’ portion of the year is going to feel a fair bit shorter this year.
  7. Boringggggg I was freezing cold in the office earlier, then when I came out too my car it was sheltered from the wind and in the sun so I was boiling. Now I’m freezing again.
  8. percentage of blue sky beginning to shrink due to the almost clockwork appearance of flattened-cumulus infill. Another cold and grey afternoon beckons.
  9. mid spring and still de-icing the car every morning. The house is freezing cold and so is the office. Sickening.
  10. This is utterly rancid now. Summer better be an absolute stonker after having to endure going on 6 and a half months of winter at this point.
  11. When stood outside earlier at 7pm it could have easily been mid November at 4pm if it weren’t for the sound of the birds chirping away.
  12. I think I saw somewhere it has been the dullest 5-6 months on record which would surprise me because I’ve seen the sun about 4 times since September (not including the last few days, which although freezing, have been kinda sunny).
  13. I swear after this is over I will never complain about average weather again
  14. Strange sort of day today. we went out and sat on a hill overlooking where I live and the breeze was really quite chilly but you could feel the strength of the sun which I guess is equivalent to august. I really do hope this rancid spell doesn’t last too long.
  15. Even I struggle with high humidity. mainly because I don’t have the privilege of working in an air conditioned office. Its OK until about lunchtime but the afternoons are brutal.
  16. Can’t wait for this week to be out the way. 6-8 degrees with a raw northerly wind can get right in the bin.
  17. Time to take a break from the model thread for a week or two and try to get through this revolting spell of weather with my sanity intact.
  18. The ONLY thing i'm maybe looking forward to with regards to this upcoming dank spell, is the chance of a squall moving north to south on sunday - quite unusual in a way because i normally see them move west to east - I have a really really good view over Andover to the north so might get out there to film it arrive if its in daylight hours.
  19. I'm a bit depressed that the vast majority of April looks like it's going to be dominated by cool/cold weather, not gonna lie. I think we've been spoiled in recent years with lovely Aprils.
  20. Hopefully the cold for next week continues to correct west, all the way into North America.
  21. Ohhhh goodyyy. Easter weekend I could be looking at temps of 4-6 degrees down here - probably not cold enough to actually snow while it’s dank and grey with a rancid windchill. Would’ve been nice to see my parents in the garden and switch off the heating finally but nevermind. Forgive me for not being besides myself with excitement because it looks utterly revolting.
  22. weather for the bank holiday weekend looking positively revolting.
  23. Yes, absolutely. I think it's kind of naive to believe we are special and alone. If you think how many stars are out there in the billions of galaxies, each with their own solar systems and possible planets orbiting them, surely there has to be something else. On the subject of aliens etc, I'm not even convinced we would recognise them/be able to communicate with them if we saw them - especially if they are so far advanced they are able to traverse space.
