  1. Yes, it quickly realised where it was and then ceased to exist:(
  2. This is it. This is our shot. All of the activity on the french MCS is on its eastern side so will miss us completely in the unlikely event of it surviving the channel - this dinky little Winchester storm needs to develop into a mothership within the next 12 miles and the summer is saved!
  3. Thunder heard from this presumably over Winchester - could Arome be right?! Trouble is, I really need a poo and this has all happened so fast
  4. Looool it genuinely looks like two dogs, doing...stuff.
  5. Just wanted to say I am happy for those up north and west getting all the action this summer. I’m extremely jealous, but I am happy for them. I often share the wonderful pictures you all take with my friends and I enjoy reading your accounts. I’m just beyond frustrated at what looks like being a stormless summer for me down here.
  6. One of the models, can’t remember which, did model a massive MCS over Wales, so could happen.
  7. Whats this little rash over me on the Arome 12Z for 9pm? Blasphemy!
  8. The window is shrinking though - last week it was ooooh Monday looks tasty, then it was tuesday, then wednesday and now its tomorrow etc. I can promise you now, nothing will happen here. I'm gonna make the call now. Storms forecast for here means supercells for Liverpool. I'm not even mad, forecasters should just remove North west hampshire from the map.
  9. Arome has the MCS literally splitting in half with the western side completely disintegrating and then the remainder completely avoiding travelling north west, but due north instead into sussex? Cool. So that's what, 7-8 days of 30 degree temps with no breakdown at the end, just cooler conditions slowly randomly appearing for the umpteenth time. So weird.
  10. No. This is a storms thread on a weather enthusiasts forum. Easy to say suck it up when we haven’t had squat down here for months/years and you’ve literally just experienced an ‘epic’ storm.
  11. As suspected. I’ll wait and see what the next goofus run shows and then I can think about an early night.
  12. As another poster said, looks a bit undulatus-ey or could be the underside of a weak gust front.
  13. You know what, Sod it - I would take the damp boring rain right now I’m so bloody hot. Just hope it gets a move on to cool the air a bit before bedtime.
  14. I know:( I did hear a few distant booms and then after a few spots of rain it just sort of collapsed. Andover is in such a rotten position for anything that isn’t an import.
  15. Meanwhile, here is all I have to show for the summer 2020 storm season.
  16. Actually nm, just seen the webcam link - they don’t look elevated to me and so won’t survive the crossing. At least I can attempt an early night
  17. Can anyone who’s smarter than me tell me if the storms near Caen and Le Havre are elevated or not?
  18. Convection here now looks quite messy and as if it’s collapsing. Wouldn’t be surprised.
  19. This is such a weird feeling. The outflow has just arrived ahead of the ‘shower’ and it’s really really warm. I don’t think I’ve ever seen or felt gusts of wind so warm!
  20. Clump of cloud about to pass over the top of me. Might get some spots of rain out of this bad boy. I am primed.
  21. Wheyyy just heard a big old boom from the ‘Whitchurch’ cell - I’m like 10 miles away but it’s as good as it gets here in Blandover.
  22. Watching the radar loop we MAY catch the back end of one of these cells as it traverses WNW. Back end Barry it shall be known
  23. I think everything will slide to the north. Our best bet is for anything drifting up from the channel later, but i wont hold my breath!
