    Thanks.. yes i get that... it's just just the blurred blue and red numbers that i cant read..maybe it's cos I'm reading it on a desktop ...or merely getting old while trying to look for stuff sorry just ignore me as i pass by..

    ..prob in rehab with Gordon the gopher.. or doin time like a few others.. Can't wait to wake up to a top up of the 1 inch we have had fallen in Welwyn today, settling in shade and in un-warmed surfaces from previous days sun is quite a result - Might be enough to make a snow creation ( gotta be non gender specific so as not to - you know - offend anyone searching!) before all the snow melts. 'tis so nice to watch snow.... fall... mesmerising <hypnotized emoticon>

    @E17boy - sorry i'm unable quote your post... ..a dry easterly at this time of year probably won't happen as there's too much competition with the warmth (and resultant convective strength) of the sun and moisture driven up from the land/sea/atlantic. The magic (snow) happens when that warmth and moist meets cold from the east - Winters last blast maybe. it's a weather watchers fun time - a bit like thunderstorms in the summer (-:

    ooh what a fab time we’ve had, tho glad not to have needed medical attention, been stuck on a train, hit by a driver whilst they texted on a mobile or fell over my shadow into a ditch et al. Hope all the mad NW snow posters stay safe and enjoy their hibernation till the next time.. This is my last pic this season unless the snow thaws enough to mould it into something - view from our front door inc the lamp post weather station Tis been great to read everyone’s excitement and +ve comments - We’re a strange and lovely lot and long may it continue (-; ps 10cms this time as opposed to 15 ish dec12 2017 but the experience was fun.

    Yeh freezing rain here in Welwyn, it's punching holes through the snow like little meteorites. Glad I'm not driving car in it. Hopefully turn to snow soon as others have witnessed

    Try posting in the moan thread... the tollorence for wind in there is unbelievable! These local threads for local people are far more flatulent.. it's like we understand life is real... or something and anticipation of weather surprises here is nice - not riduculed but maybe i'm just getting old and wise.. 3pm tomorrow (friday) is my bet for some more snow to finish off this winter

    People these days have to travel further for work or school than they did when i was a kid in the 80's - better to close the schools and save the heart ache of visiting the morg the next day as a parent or teachers wife/husband - Plenty of nutters out there in warm cars without a clue! better safe than sorry.. and al that

Showing what is happening and what could. 3pm on Friday for us in Hertfordshire is worth watching as another band of fun tempts us from the south with wind and cold from an easterlyish direction but then again it could all go /pete tong/ and we end up with hayfever istead (-:

    yes, i just had a look at the met office mobile radar app and it seems to be moving in the right direction also here: https://en.sat24.com/en/gb/snow although temps still rising here in Welwyn (-2c) while dewpoints (-5c) are taking a nosedive & pressure still dropping: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IWELWYN8 been snowing tiny snow all day here blowing settled snow about into drifts, could be a few surprises later.. and maybe the temps'l rise enough to make the snow pliable enough to mould into something... resembling...? Haven't decided yet (-: Humidity here is now 81%

    Does anyone have a similar (or better) animation than this that doesn't show Russia's output frozen in time, as it would be interesting to visualize the water vapour or lack of it coming from the east et al' http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/SAT_NHEM/animweur.html What has happened so far - (from my interpretation) is that the warmth from the south has been flattened by the so called beast... i just wonder what strengths are left behind in the high to the east of us?
