  1. I wonder if MrCRAZYSNOWFANMAN from LUTONZ will come out of retirement later today (-:
  2. Is there a 192 club anywhere on this forum? It's just that Christmas falls in t192hrs and over the years being here I've found that around 192hrs the models start to get interesting and dare I say possibly near the outcome regarding t0z - even the pub run
  3. SAME thing happens within the model thread every year.. Someone's expectations are publicly burnt at the stake and others worries are drowned in a lake - and then the thread starts again with the mods warning everyone to behave - then it happens again. ...been there, read it slept in the t-shirt. We're living on an Island where the main topic of conversation is the weather, like it or not. THREE days forecast is the acceptable hope (but not specifically in a small back yard 3 miles north of croydon et al) we have to see the bigger picture which as it turns out isn't as easy as it sounds. Long term influences, trend and analytical observations way beyond the understanding of folk like me are WHY we're here on this fab forum Behave, be polite, ask questions and learn Over-and-out for yet another year
  4. My pleasure.. and yes please download all the files, I hope their limitted history will be interesting.. I used to watch how the ensembles 'predicted' two or three days ahead and saved the files till the point of reality - if you get what I mean. but i don't get the time anymore to follow it.. a mere glance at Meteociel and water vapour http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/SAT_NHEM/animweur.html seems to keep me ticking over )-:
  5. Hi, sorry to interrupt the thread but I’m not sure where to put this gift - Mods please move this post to a more appropriate place if you need to. I had saved many ensembles since Feb 2012 through to Jan 2016 plus a few others. There’s 32mb of info and just over a thousand images like this: If you want them please download them from my DropBox folder.. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/w8zj6ch1y96ytud/AAADvJcNQEkbLdKO3YX6Ife6a?dl=0 you'll have a week before I have to delete them. Hopefully some of you will find them interesting, maybe not? One week and they’ll be gone.. Pixel ps accept my apologies for mostly being interested (collecting data) in extreme weather - esp in the winter (-;
  6. Tornadoes hit Wales and the Midlands, aparently http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38016701
  7. Happy to be an old guinea pig - please count me in
  8. just seen some cyclists making their way along the sea front in the lightning - Excellent streaming webcam video google translate is funny; "..The streaming video ensures that way for you to be present from home, from your computer, even on the beach, without you having to do the door off." this is amazing to watch also: http://www.lightningmaps.org/?lang=en#y=50.914;x=-2.3114;z=7;t=3;m=sat;r=0;s=201;o=0;b=0.00;n=0;d=2;dl=2;dc=0;
  9. 17.6c - thank you I'll get my coat, just in case (-:
  10. I've decided to only use Wunderground to display my readings on the web from now on. The id is IWELWYN8 Uploading data to my server/website provider seemed like too much effort and tbh I'm quite happy how Wunderground displays the data from my weatherstation. The WS1001 (aka Maplin N23DQ) is performing great, I highly recommend it.
  11. You've got a good deal there.. worth the wait... maybe someone would like to buy your previous station I'm very happy with my WS1001 clone from Maplins for the time being, maybe in the next 5 years I'll move up a notch or two My better half asked me to change the Maplin display back to what it was before I posted above as she couldn't see it very well in the kitchen. It looks nice close up but not so good from a distance... but the modification was fun to try. Brian @ wxforum frm Turkey had sent me the HomeWeather template files - very helpful - More info here : http://www.idesign34.com/homepws/homeweather.html#features for anyone else who'd like to investigate. It's working on my website now, after some tinkering: Welwyn Weather on the web
  12. oooh i didn't know that existed... so I'll 'rest' on my newly created 2.3.4 (aka 2.2.9 Firmware emailed to me from Fineoffset) here's the new installed display on my bargain Maplin N23DQ: details here: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IWELWYN8 .. the next step is manipulating web templates via this forum: http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=27528.50 to make a weather webpage - oh another hobby added to the list
  13. thread killer - LOL Spring type weather coming up.. make the most of it cos there's seaweed that's tellin' of a cold end to March (-: http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gefs_table.php?x=306&y=141&run=0&ext=fr&mode=0&sort=1 http://www.meteociel.fr/modeles/gfse_cartes.php?&ech=348&mode=0&carte=1 and just for fun: http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/SAT_NHEM/animweur.html
  14. Frogs have been busy in our pond - the 'better half' told me the spawn appeared on Friday 4th March - a week earlier than last year. So having found this thread here's today's snaps;
  15. I predict a volatile, cold end to winter at the end of March - purely based on observing the stratosphere warming in a weeks time which was preceded two weeks ago by another in this year. 50p bet (-: The 'larger than life' lady has yet to sing a final song this season... who's going to win 50 pence? = Me! Straw hats on the table...
  16. If it's snow and not meteorite's then it'll be to do with the easterly over sea - the wet bit to the right of you on the radar. Maybe some convection and a few isolated wintry cold things falling from the sky today (sat) - and who knows an early Thames streamer... briefly there was a blob of white on the forecast tonight - straw clutching is my forte (-: Enjoy
  17. Quick update... I have today received a firmware file from Henry foshk.com (fineoffset) for my Maplin N23DQ weatherstation. The firmware version is: Title=HP2000 Version=2.2.9 etc etc ... and it works!! (-: & also the 'EasyweatherIP' software works to on my iMac over wifi. Everything looks to be the same as Mapantz's above so all good there. Onwards and upwards... Note to anyone... don't forget to edit the 'main' and 'update' ini files ( in any text editor) to increment the firmware version UP, if you start messing with lots of firmware files. I'm now on 2.3.3 ! even though I'm actually using 2.2.9
  18. Thanks for the offer but I've only just deleted everything related to the firmware i got from Ambient weather's wiki page from my system and uploaded the V2.2.2 firmware Maplin emailed me (changed the sequence to 2.3.0! of course ) and everything works fine inc the wunderground but the EasyweatherIP software wont now, cos it's not supported but at least I got my weather station back on line (-: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=IWELWYN8 I'll PM you.. ....but for others sake... don't upload what seems to be the latest Firmaware for your weather station unless you know what you are doing - which of course I don't (-:
  19. Only WiFi symbols showing not wunderground I filled in the Server field as you suggested, Changed to GMT - london, lisbon etc - ticked the update via 'time.nist.gov' Still no connection to Wunderground station YET I am able to use EasyweatherIP software on my mac and adjust/see the weather station via wireless no probs I would just like to find a way to load the original 2.2.7 firmware back (if I could find it somewhere or even the 2.2.5) but you can't load any firmware on the station unless you increment the firmware version within 'ini' files and i'm guessing that's why wunderground doesn't want anything to do with this station now that I've messed with it ! Works great, signal gets through four walls from the outside unit! - indoor sensor is good too and the station picks up all the wifi networks round here. Very pretty too - but can't talk to wunderground )-:
  20. As I had feared, the upload to wunderground is failing now )-: - Maybe my unit has inherited some of the American options after the firmware change? Unit is sending to: www.wunderground.com In the menu this is what I see: Web: www.***.com Station ID: IWELWYN8 Password; (my password) Server: (this field is blank) server type: PHP - (options are; ASP, JSP) Upload type; Default - (option is customize) Server port: 80 Time is GMT (Coordinated Universal time) Server: time.nist.gov Did I miss something?
  21. (-: Will take a pic when it's done... I'm taking a rest after all this hassle... just going to see if the upload to Wunderground works first.. Note to self and others; don't update firmware without saving your old firmware first !! At present v2.2.9 will think you are in America on a different frequency and everything! But if you can't resist, edit the version number of the firmware to trick your machine into thinking the firmware is new
  22. Oh wow - yippee - it's working !!!! I changed the dates and the firmware number up by one digit and got the update the firmware THANKS GUYS couldn't have done this without you - brilliant now gonna try that fancy screen (-:
  23. tried update with SD card yes (it worked when i updated it to 2.2.9 from one of those websites) so will now try 2.3.0 ? Maybe work?
  24. Spoke to chap at Maplins and he kindly sent me 2.2.2 firmware so I triied that and could get the Weatherstation to update its firmware.. didn't work..... so then I changed the date to today in 'main.ini" and "update.ini" on the micro card and tried again.. No Luck - I'm at a loss what to do now as I can't seem to get any firmwares to load so am stuck with a station that's listening out for 915mhz ! I've posted on WX forum very late last night but am still in moderation so my post isn't there - Have I missed something? Anything else I can try?
