  1. Where has all my snow gone? At work at the mo and everyone is panicing
  2. Weather according to the nationals it's going to be S. Wales, Glos, Bristol and parts of Somerset. But a lot can change can't it.
  3. Well with approx 18 hours to go there must be some confidence in the forecast if the nationals and locals are talking about it. It's going to be a long day of weather watching.
  4. Even Carol is showing a whack of snow for a lot of us, the nationals don't usually say a lot about us.
  5. I can't sleep now lol. It took a long time to get to you so here's hoping it stays a while. When you have had enough send it throuhh Devon to Somerset please.
  6. I am going to sleep witb a smile on mu face. Well done Cornwall :-)
  7. I can never see those charts, it's like those magic eye books, I am rubbish at those to! So if anyone could kindly tell me if I am getting any snow it would be appreciated.
  8. Has Cornwall struck paysnow yet? This is exciting. Happy birthday for tomorrow GLTW
  9. Not sure if this will work, but I'll try. 95% snow risk for tomorrow? Monday 21st Jan -10°c 1°c 0mm 50% 95% 0% Tuesday 22nd Jan -7°c 1°c 2mm 85% 80% 0% Wednesday 23rd Jan -6°c 1°c 1mm 70% 80% 0% Thursday 24th Jan -7°c 0°c 1mm 55% 50% 0% Friday 25th Jan -6°c 4°c 0mm 50% 0% 0% Ahh it didn't work. So it basically states that my snow risk is; Monday - 95% Tuesday - 80% Wednesday - 80% Thursday - 50%
  10. It will snow. The occlusion is marching east into cold air so all will be fine. I pinched that from Ian Fergusson. That made me sound proper clever then didn't it.
  11. I put out loads of bread for the birds this morning and having spent 1/2 an hour at the kitchen window peeling veg I can say that they are stupid. My garden is covered in magpies and other birds that I don't know the name of, (city girl originally) and they are just hopping about ignoring the bread. There is also a big, fat brown bird out there that is bigger than the chicken I just put in my oven. Tempted....
  12. It's snowing Cirencester, my poor cousin is snowed in at the hospital and can't get home for her mothers roast dinner. Not a happy girly!
  13. Well the boss is in a dither, he wants to know who can get in to work tomorrow and who can't. I thought about being helpful and emailing him, suggesting that most people should be able to get in to work on Monday but Tuesday/Wednesday could cause problems. Do you think this about sums up the situation for us Somerset/Bristol people?
  14. So, now snow now then? I would look but I have been going down the medicinal route of port and brandy so the chances of me reading anything and making sense of it are null.
  15. Thanks, I read it wrong, as in Sunday midnight was tonight, not Sunday midnight as tomorrow.
  16. Please excuse me, I am flue'd up and not making sense of anything. Is more snow forecast for us all tonight then? Happy birthday Mullender X Funky - Awful times, I hope everything starts to go well for you soon and your gf gets better quickly. X
  17. I had to share this. As soon as I saw it I thought of you lot. In wintry temperatures, fill balloons with water and food colouring. When the water has frozen, remove the balloon and you have giant marbles!
  18. Snow is falling from the heavens as I type. it's coming off the Bristol channel, showing as rain and then as soon as it hits land it becomes snow. Is this the infamous channel streamer? Am I in one of the sweet spots? Thanks
  19. It has stopped here now, although judging by the radar we are about to get another dumping.
  20. That blob won't break up until it goes past my neck of the woods Still light snow, I don't think it has stopped since it started. LOL just read that back, it makes perfect sense to me.
  21. Well I am pleased to announce approx 4cm of snow and it hasn't stopped. We had an hour or so with pathetic little flakes the size of a pinhead but it soon returned to decent sized flakes, hardly a blizzard but continuous.
  22. Apparently the M5 near me is at a standstill. Utter chaos! Lots of people must have somewhere very important to drive to, after all everyone pays attention to the warnings don't they about not driving unless absolutely necessary. Also kids are using my road like a race track, its a 30 - 20 mph in good conditions, I have seen cars doing 40 plus. Some people need locking up for their own safety in times such as these.
  23. I can't remember Sky going off in 2010? Luckily I remembered I have freeview upstairs so managed to get my forecast fix.
  24. Ok thanks. I was sure that it was due to stop at lunchtime and then a thaw would start to set in. I am not complaining, it looks very pretty
  25. MetO says that I now have snow all day until 9pm tonight. That wasn't forecast was it?
