  1. A good chance I might be going to Bridgwater carnival tonight too. My son definetly is anyway. Unfortunetly, the winds will worsen down that way this afternoon and look like peaking for Bridgwater some time in the evening. Expect gusts of 50mph in Bridgwater, with it quite likely to reach 60mph at times too. Along with frequent heavy and possibly thundery showers this evening coming off the Bristol Channel it really couldn't be much worse for the carnival. Aww that's a shame. If you happen to wander near my usual standing point, next to Specsavers/Greggs shout out Daisy and we'll have a pint. Enjoy! Blimey I really messed this quote up! ha ha
  2. Can someone cleverer than me please tell me when this wind will roughly die down? It's Bridgwater carnival tonight and in an ideal world I would like to see the wind gone by about 7pm. So much work goes into this carnival that I would be sad indeed if it was still as windy as it is now. Rain/snow/cold/fog is fine, but wind will cause some major issues. Thanks. I'm straw clutching atm
  3. Pouring with rain here but hardly a breeze. there is a very strange atmosphere out there. Typically my roof has started to leak and the bedroom ceiling is starting to bow, 10cm approx from the light fitting so I've had to call someone out, but the chicken has said he won't get on the roof. It's not even windy!
  4. Ian said last night that the 00z was the one to watch. I have never believed the GFS since the big snow storm that never happened.
  5. It's going to be bad enough through the night without adding rush hour concerns to it. I HAVE to go out to an appointment on Monday and I really don't fancy driving over the levels with that storm going on.
  6. Am I right in thinking that the worst will be over for us by lunchtime Monday? Hello all by the way, long time, no type
  7. Why is that during the winter the snow is always north of the M4 and yet in the summertime the rain appears to always forecast south of the M4 corridoor? Grrr etc
  8. That storm took out my mobile phone. It was also an interesting walk to the nearest long drops in Pennard whilst wearing flip flops.
  9. This has definitely felt like the hottest day in my living memory, let alone this year.
  10. Wow. Wow. Wow. Being a sun worshipping beach babe, (my words, no one elses)...I am lovin' this weather and long may it continue! It's bleedin' hard work teaching 30 9 year olds in this though I have to say, on the bright side I'm on my hols next week.
  11. Hello all! It's only taken about 4 years but summer is here at last!
  12. Oh good god I am so sick of this weather now! Even when I was in Spain it was grim. We even had to cancel a school trip yesterday because of the weather, this is ridiculous. We deserve a flaming June, July & August, so let's hope it happens.
  13. I am sick to the back teeth of this sodding weather! Just putting it out there, though I doubt anyone will disagree.
  14. I had 3 days of gorgeous sunshine last weekend, I even managed to eat fish & chips on the beach and go out in a boat without a coat.
  15. The headlines are saying the channel low has stalled south again. Let's hope it's all nonsense and we haven't had our summer already. It's probably Michael Gove's fault, everything is his fault in my world.
  16. Phew, I looked an idiot when I ran into the garden in my bikini! Hasn't the weather been fabulous! Very much looking forward to a bank holiday weekend of pottering in the garden, beach & BBQs. It's a times like this when we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the UK.
  17. Absolutely gorgeous day here, got lots of gardening done and enjoyed some sun on my bare arms. It felt really warm, much warmer than forecast, maybe I was just working too hard.
  18. Just popped in to say that I am loving this weather! If I was a moaner I could moan about the wind, but blue Simpsons skies, no rain and that big yellow thing in the sky has fair made my day today. I fancy a bit of gardening is on the agenda tomorrow. I hope you're all enjoying it after the dismal winter and murk that we have had for more or less the last 6 months.
  19. I know, it's shocking really. Crops are also being badly affected, this in turn is going to put up the price of absolutely everything that we buy... so it makes sense to provide money for extra shelter etc, the economy is going to go into meltdown unless the gov't do something quickly. The weather affects so many things doesn't it, it's something that I forget until I talk to people like my cousin & my friend who runs a farm shop. I'm also worried about my cousin, 9 months pregnant and out in her wellies in all weathers at all times of the day and night. She won't be told though!
  20. Is there an end in sight for this atrocious weather? My poor cousin is a farmer, she is about to give birth to her 2nd baby, her ewes are dying in labour/lambs are dying as they haven't the space to bring them all in because of the calves, even though they are trying their damnedest to do so and they have had to buy in hay & silage because they have run out due to the awful weather. Bad times for farmers that's for sure. Her husband has hardly slept in days as he is outside with the ewes trying his best to save as many as he possibly can.
  21. Awww thanks. I hope it is, but anything in double figures is going to feel hot after the last 6 months of weather that we have had. Happy Easter everyone. It's a lovely sunny day here, hopefully today heralds the start of something warmer for us all. X
  22. I just left the pub with mates and one mate said, "It's quite mild out tonight." The car temp read 4.5c... I think this just about sums up our weather atm. When I get off that plane on Tuesday it's going to feel like a heatwave at a scorching 16c.
  23. Is that the bright orange thing in the sky? It's blinding me.
