  1. I'm on the hot toddys. I have also positioned myself at the dining room table, next to the radiator and the window, with a full view of a lampost. Feeling optimistic, even though I said no earlier.
  2. I won't see snow here, not with a dewpoint of 4c, that is according to Accuweather. Yes for others though.
  3. Is somerset going to get loads of snow? Im Due to give birth any day & I don't fancy the stress of trying to get to the hospital ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Dancing Daisy's Daughter again btw
  4. It's still awful isn't it. I stupidly thought things were improving as yesterday i managed to drive through seven bends. Now I have seen a weather forecast I think it's time to rechristen the levels to somerset on sea
  5. Yeah I did. New job, 9 months pregnant daughter and a baby shower yesterday caught up with me and I didn't see the morning until 10am lol.The dredging, or rather lack of it, has been the problem around these parts. I just don't understand how the powers that be think that this is the way to cut costs. The road I take to work is higher than the fields so it's like driving through a path made through the sea, very weird. If this water rises much more then I will be stuffed getting to work. I'm one of the lucky ones, the flooding hasn't really affected me, but friends are at their wits end with it all.
  6. Utterly miserable and grey here today after yesterday's sunshine. Normal service resumes then I guess. No chance of snow then? Not that I want it to be honest as I think we all need a respite from this awful rain. Some frosts and sunshine would be so welcome at the moment.
  7. Totally understand. I wouldn't see the funny side either. Even the fields alongside westonzoyland road are full to bursting, any more rain and that road is going to be impassable as well. Are things getting better out there?
  8. Firstly; go careful around those lanes! I drive that way to work every morning and lost my car at one bend due to all the mud on the road, it's treacherous!Secondly; please god, no snow! Things are dreadful around here, it's beyond a joke now. Kids can't get to school, a lot of roads are impassable, people are unable to leave their villages and we even have the bloody sun newspaper sending big breasted women holding cans of beer down on boats to try and get their way in to villages to try and get interviews, this didn't go down well with the villagers! Even the male ones Snow means more floods, we just need some peace and quiet now.
  9. BBC weather shows me at 11c and sunshine today. I hope this is true as I work near to the somerset levels and they could do with some drying out.
  10. The view from my front windows is dark, black and gloomy. The view from the back window is blue sky and bright. Very weird! Is there a time when things are due to settle down?
  11. Happy New Year all! After some advice please. I've got to drive to Cornwall this afternoon for a family party. M5 south and then A30 to St Austell. Anything I should be worried about/avoid? Thanks Outside looks like a black and white movie, absolutely no colour. HUGE rumble of thunder outside just now and the seagulls are going mental. It was freaky!
  12. I am more than happy with the M word as I'm not a cold lover or a winter lover. I like sunshine and I am definitely a summer person, there I've said it! Although I am partial to a bit of snow watch madness and I like to know what is going on. The M word can stay for the foreseeable as far as I'm concerned as I'm out on my leaving do on the 20th of this month, (I've got a new job and I am leaving the old one after 14 years...*sob* ) so I intend to look as stunning as possible, hence buying a new dress which needs heels, which are definitely not conducive to snow and ice. I am more than happy to build snowmen after the 5th of January weather gods.
  13. At 9.30 pm I had to de-ice the car to take my daughter home, it was a really hard frost. At 6.30am the car is frost free. This seems a bit weird to me,
  14. Coming out of the pub I noticed that a lovely frost is covering cars here. Any chance of snow days coming up? I'm leaving my job at Christmas for a new one and the current one is driving me mad. I need a few days off.
  15. Should we be getting excited? I haven't invested in the radar yet so please excuse the questions until I get over my tightness and flex the debit card.
  16. Cor it's quiet in here! It's snowing ooop north so I expected a bit of life in here. Too keep you going through the snow watch December evenings I suggest you make yourselves one of these beauties!
  17. Drunk I expect. Another damp. dreary and overcast day at Daisy Towers. So snowmageddon is fading into a distant dream then, I have a feeling that this will be this winters story. Happy to be wrong though.
  18. So is Snowmageddon happening? Ian mentioned on his twitter that anything that did fall would come to nothing.
  19. Fab weather for the Bridgwater carnival. A couple of brief heavy showers but on the whole pretty damned great for November. At one point I had my coat and sweatshirt off as I was so warm. Thank you weather gods
