  1. Ummm, just outside the amber warning... still a fair few hours 'til kick off though.
  2. Very chilly wind out there in the wilds of Bridgwater. My new car just told me it is 2c and to be aware of icy surfaces. I used to drive a Nissan Sunny, now I drive an Alfa, so please allow me my excitement
  3. Bloody sea rats will eat anything. A few years ago I was chomping away on a Captain Jaspers after a day on the lash with the girlies and one just swooped down and ripped it straight from my hand. Never got over that!
  4. Every now and then I like to pull a sensible post out of the bag.
  5. Having spent the last few years riding the Netweather rollercoaster I feel qualified to say that this is a channel low, yes? Therefore no one knows what's going to happen and no amount of forecasting/chart watching and wringing of hands is going to change this. Exeter could get blasted and Taunton could see nothing, conversely Southampton could get a pasting and Somerset could end up with rain and murk. Please correct me if I am wrong.
  6. It's taken me 43 years to get my gas guzzling vehicle of doom and I'm going to enjoy it! After Tuesday, or so it would appear! Cracking post AWD. You're a superstar
  7. I like to partake in the forum with my impartial weather knowledge
  8. NO! NO! NO! I am properly tantruming now, throwing my toys out of my pram and causing such a scene the neighbours will call the police in a minute. I don't want any bloody snow, I've just bought a new (to me) Alfa Romeo, yes an Alfa, a gorgeous piece of Italian lushness that I have saved for for ages and I need to be able to drive it and set free my inner petrol head, I cannot do this with sodding snow about. Please, someone, tell me the snow won't happen.
  9. Woken up to a red wine hangover and grey skies. Groundhog day. Nice to know that we will have some sunshine next week, even if it is going to rain.
  10. I can spy a little bit of blue in the sky. Exciting! Come on Spring my little beauty! She said the tape measure is in your car.
  11. Will someone please put me out of misery and either pay for me to move to the Canaries or tell me when Spring is coming? I am sick to the back teeth of grey days, black nights, being freezing cold all of the time and feeling rubbish. That bright orange thing was in the sky for a few days a week or 2 ago, but I haven't seen it for ages. My cleaner (not as grand as it sounds...lol) told me today that it is going to snow at the weekend. is this true? She is brilliant and knows lots of stuff about stuff.
  12. Light snow flurries here this morning, but another cold and grey one seems to be the order of the day. I shouldn't complain as the fields are drying out nicely now, which is just what is needed. Although, like everyone, I like sunny. cold and crisp days. A little bit of sunshine just makes you feel better doesn't it, so this greyness can sod off. The trees are really heavy with blossom around here, I am hoping it's a sign of a great spring and summer.
  13. Praise the lord! I for one am sick of the bottoms of my jeans getting soaking wet every time I leave the house, am sick to the back teeth of carrying a brolly with me every where I go and I am starved of sunshine, as are most of my brethren. I was talking to our local farm shop owner on Saturday and he is really worried that he will go out of business, due to all of this wet weather he has lost a lot of crops.
  14. 4 Layers through, all hot and steamy and what do I find...? Bleedin' painted woodchip. So, is it going to snow?
  15. Nods Nods So, in a nutshell what's happening with this weather malarky? I've been stripping all day so not had time to geek.
  16. My opinion is that more snow = more floods, so the snow can sod off as far as I'm concerned. I want spring, sunshine, light mornings and evenings. Though I will still be lampost watching and quite excited if I see it fall.
  17. Alexander Fleming has spoilt it all for you. Sorry but I feel much better today, it only ever snows when I am ill and I don't intend on relapsing for you lot.
  18. Total whiteout in about a minute with hail the size of smarties, it was so loud I thought there was a flood in my kitchen. Weird stuff!
  19. You'll get your channel low and the whole of the southwest will get pasted. How do I know? Snow event in 2010 - I had flu Snow event in 2013 - I had flu Today in 2013 - I have pneumonia. (As a result of not allowing myself to get better/resting properly after having the flu) Whenever I am too ill to peel myself out of bed we get hit by snow events. Happy to help! I have slept on and off for about 48 hours, the shocking storm here woke me up, talk about mad weather! My patio table is currently in next doors garden.
  20. Oh for goodness sake, hasn't the west country had enough rain? This weather is really making me narky! We had better have an amazing spring and summer to make up for 2 years of dross.
  21. *high fives* We've had our snow and now it can sod off. If you believe in Chinese horoscopes then read next years, it's all about sun, fun and happiness. Last year was all about flooding, sadness and badness. I'm not a superstitious person, in fact I thought it was all nonsense, until I read the Chinese stuff.
  22. *Stands up* I am a sun lover, I love the thrill of forecasting snow, I love to make snowmen, I love having a snowball fight, but in the short term only. My ideal weather is loads of snow, a quick thaw and then sunshine. I'm not a coldie, I'm a hottie. On a sunny day I sit in the garden, drink wine and worship the sun, even if I need to wear layers to do so. My SAD box is my life save. I hate going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. I LOVE sunshine. If snow is on the ground and the sun is shining then I am happy. I am planning on Lanzarote in 2 weeks time, I need sunshine. There, I have admitted it!
