That is typical express. They run that headline every time FI comes in at +144hrs. Must be secret GFS watchers I think.....

Yeh saw it too. They were just showing the temperature trend up to and including Wednesday. had maxima of 0c for most of N England. We'll see......

Graupel- absolutely chucking it down here Leeds city centre. Should have a 'drying' easterly wind picking up though early next week according to BBC forecast. They are also going for 0c maxima come Wednesday

Any Snow Left ? How Long Did It Last ?

Still got good cover on ground and grass etc. cul de sac road now an ice rink. Snow been there since 14th December so > 30 days cover now heavy sleet at present. -
5-6cm left in Pudsey. Rest compacted in to Torvill & Dean country. Yeh bemused by BBCs 'snow' chance tomorrow too.We'll see..

Possibly the worst journey this yar so far. Black ice and cars skating all over the place. Jed from Otley - just spent an hour (yes an hour ) getting down the chevin in to Otley. Sheet ice and was starting to snow at the top 800FT ASL. There's several cars gon for a burton up n down there already !!!! AVOID

Raining here in city centre. My missus reporting light snow in Pudsey for the last hr. Quite enjoyable getting the bus home and the precipitation changing as you get higher up towards home... sad I know

There's certainly a lot of energy within that storm and it is moving NE faster than I thought it would. Will fragment of course up against the high but here's hoping.....

3-4cm of new snow ovenight.- much wetter snow than we've been used to though. Still caused traffic / bus mayhem and took missus 2 hrs in to central Leeds. Temp 0.9c and snowing lightly with occ moderate intensity. Anyone agree the BBC / Meto got this badly wrong again ?

Yeh just now. Think it was from the wind not any thaw as temp at 0.1c. A big load landed on the conservatory and my missus nearly .... herself !

Heavy snow here Pudsey Driving NE wind too. Temp 0.9c. Drifting heavily in back garden and fields behind.

One or two little flakes in the wind coming down now. Temp 1.7c and wind ENE picking up. Looks like that radar splodge is heading stright for us wth a bit more out in the N Sea..

Yeh Newby Bridge had plenty as did Lindale etc. Yeh 1996 I was living on the Wirral. Same westerly aspect as barrow and we used to get no snow until then when a front stalled and it dumped about 18" on us. !! Radar looking good towards the east anyway now. all the best

Lakes Tom, Was in Ulverston after xmas as Im from the outskirts of Barrow origianally but live and work in Leeds now. A slight covering there but not a thing even in rural Barrow and still the same this week bar a bit of frost + ice. Nothing compared to the 10 -12 inches at present in my garden. Leeds is far better for snow than S Cumbria

Light / moderate snow here Pudsey. Looking at radar an east flow showing plenty of light showers heading this way

Heavy snow here Pudsey. Looking at ky towards NE looks absolutely laden with snow. City centre disappeared too...always a good sign

Great heavy snow 6.30-8pm and continuous light now since then. Pepping up now too. Temp -1.1c Added 2-3cm tonight already. ( on top of yesterdays attched pic b4 kids spoilt it ! ) That line on raintoday is giving us a direct hit for the next few hours too.

Hopefully this is starting to shift more SW towards here. Can anyone put a snow depth total on what is on the N York moors at present ?? They seem to have kopped every snow shower / streamer / frontal snow since eternity... it must be bl**dy deep up there !!

great stuff lets hope they only lose slight intensity as they run towards us. TBH I think sunday has more potential but hey I don't think we've done bad.

Is it just me or is that line of showers heading due east and much further inland that was forecast ?

Cheers east Leeds fellas. Even now from my conservatory the city centre has disappeared again under a white glow and you guys are getting it big. Can't complain wth the 23cm here though...

Light snow shower here Pudsey. Have got great views over to and past city centre towards east Leeds anditlooksas though they have ben getting pasted the last hr or two. Anybody out there Roundhay / Sherburn way to report ???
