    Decent snow shower in Pudsey as I left at 7.15 this morning. Wanted to stay and watch but had to leave.....!

    First post of the winter and good to be back. Decent snow shower just passed through.. Have been in city today but nice to come back up here and some snow cover on car, grass and pavements. Light snow falling again as I type.

    Great day thanx mate here in Leeds as a fellow Cumbrian ( Barrow / Ulverston). Got 9cm here in Pudsey still lying on grass and tbh no real thaw in cul-de-sac at all. Temp 1.4c. Wind variable if any.

    5-6cm snow here on cars etc. Walked down to Ring road near Wickes and the difference dropping down by 100-130m lower down was massive. There was barely a cm and that was slush

    Woke up to a coverng of wet snow on the cars, grass this morning. After not seeing the forecast this weekend a pleasant suprise..

    Was snowing lightly last nite about 9.30pm in Pudsey. Woke up to dusting on cars, grass pavements etc and enough for the snow scraper to get to work on the car windscreen :lol: The top of the Chevin in to Otley at 800ft asl was very wintry this morning; snow cover, fog and temp -3c.

    Anyone looking at the potential for tonite.? Cold WNW quite often give good sleet / snow showers to W Yorks....? Certainly plenty of action in NI / Irish Sea at the moment coming this way?? Could hit us at the right time?

    Very strong tstorm through west leeds at about 6pm. Was out running and had to shelter under a bridge. Frequent CG lightening and torrential run turned roads in to rivers. Best Ive seen for many a year.

    Can't remember 1975 but 1989 and 1995 go down as great summers, particularly 1995 as IMO that is the best Ive ever seen....

    Have to agree.. Im certainly very keen on the future models particulary Sat 8th May as Im doing the 40mile keswick to barrow walk / run that day. My ideal conditions are slack N or NE flow, cool and sunny as i'm heading SW all the time. I particularly don't want a headwind... At present this looks possible.. Any more thoughts anyone on that day. FI I know at present..

    Got in at 1am last nite with thick frost and temp -2.3. Woke up to unexpected snow cover. Look like a shower went thro about 4.30am - 5am Beautiful day now. Temp rising and snow melting. Might even sit in the sun

    Yeh some mammoth falls occuring on the hills. Could be looking at 100cm in some places.... lucky sods. This could be one of the Scotish Ski centres greatest years. They haven't had 1 SW ' hairdryer ' all winter I don't think.? www.winterhighland.info/cams/glencoe

    A good 4-5cm cleared off car this morning Pudsey 175m asl. Think we did well last night looking at previous posts. Very difficult to get out of cul de sac too. Plenty of snow Jed in Otley too. Came over the Chevin and that had been ploughed. Might take a jaunt up above Otley towards Timble at lunch. Massive snowdrifts up there in January

    Hope you're right in some ways but wrong in others. I love the snow but the roads are a pain in the ..... from Pudsey - Otley. Ive got to get to Otley in the morning to do a clinic at the WGH

    Cheers. must be barrow's record snowfall ) Had 2 people verify it. Had a look at meto radar between 9 - 11am this morn and south cumbria was getting pasted.

    M y mum reckons there is 2" snow in barrow on the cumbria coast. Certainly not famed for its snow.....Anyone verify ????
