    7-8cm here Pudsey 175m asl. Good powdery snow and no ice underneath. Off sledging now on local hill.

    Yeh my numbers are based on 30 days continuous 17th Dec - mid Jan and numerous days including the last 3 and many others so will go about 40-50. Elevation is the key we know. Ive got a colleague at work who lives bottom end Pudsey and they said Friday morning 'what snow'.? Out comes the mobile phone with our cul de sac covered in the stuff !

    Hi, Just posted about snow cover days in the 'historic winter' thread. Do you have an exact no. of days with atleast some snow on the ground in Cookridge? Im going for 45 - 50 days here ( guesstimate).

    IMO yes definitely. After snow albeit light Wed & Thurs nite Ive added 3 more mornings where snow has lay on my garden. Possibly edging now towards 45 maybe 50 days of ( some ) snow cover atleast since beginning of winter ie Dec 09.

    Walked home from city and got to pudsey and just turned to snow about 7pm. Good covering now on grass / cars pavement etc. albeit a bit slushy. Continuous light / mod snow now. If this freezes tonite in big trouble....

    Stopped here at present Looks like a heavier spell heading up from Huddersfield as I speak. Agree this is intensifying at possibly the right time. Temp now 0.5c

    Spot on. Went for a run before starting at 175m asl in pudsey ppn snow dropped down to about 60m asl rain / light sleet and when I climbed back up through Tong Village / Drighlington ( approx 150 - 200m asl) back to snow again. Glad to say light snow pudsey but not really settling Temp 1.1 c

    Very icy and foggy start this morning. Temp -3.4c and thick ice on car. Visibility down to 100m over the Chevin past Leeds Bradford Airport. Potential from south tonite. May do ok at 175m asl.??

    Heavy snow shower here Otley last 20mins - covered ground well. Seem to be in the firing line at the moment. When we have loads forecast we get none.... When none is forecast we get a loads .... It is always correct. Get the cold in place and see what happens. Snow forecasting as we all know is full of surprises...

    ITV have downgraded their text services which is a real shame. Analogue text in my opinion is way better than digital. Still got bbc pages 401 - 416 to surf though
