  2. Actually I have had to crack open the Stella as it's so light so far. Calms my nerves...
  3. Precipitation pepped up over Lake District / Cumbria according to radar. Hopefully a direct hit here for later..?
  4. Jed. Slightly further west than you so probably why.. Decent enough snow to be seen falling without lamp posts so hopefully en route..! Think this band is light tbh. As said yesterday I think tomorrow looks way better.
  5. Light snow here now. Sat in conservatory, laptop on, glass if wine. nowcasting.....
  6. Morning all. A light covering of graupal on surfaces this morning and a slight frost. Just been for a run and very bracing..! Could be in for a good night. Sit in conservatory with views over Leeds, wIne in hand, security light watching and laptop on.. and the missus in bed early!!!!
  7. castleford 0 ...leeds rhinos 60.... sorry mods.
  8. That was a one off Aaron last year. Decent snow of 2- 3" and lasted til Sunday evening ie. the day after. Although not after a good sledging on that morning. This set up is way different. Firstly decent few days of cold leading to lower ground temps. Secondly you may catch a few light snow showers Sat / Sun as even a easterly sets in. Thirdly. If the trajectory does go NW-SE on Monday then we're in for a decent pasting to be followed by freezing temps not thawing temps and possible top ups afterwards. I love snow but hate predicting it. I always find when forecast we get little. When not forecast we get some. Exciting times. Radar watch, lamppost watch and enjoy....
  9. Don't worry Jed we 'll get our pasting on Monday. Perhaps twice..... It's my day off too.....
  10. Isn't that on Ian McCaskills' famous weekly Countryfile forecast. New York 21c Wasington 23c Richmond 25c then he shows us one of the UK's greatest ever synoptic charts.....
  11. Heavy hail showers throughout the morning left a good covering and still not melted
  12. Merry Christmas and a happy Boxing Day to all NW members. Very heavy rain at the moment as this goes through. Garden certainly taking a pasting..
  13. This ice is worse than the ice we had in January of 2010 /11 . can't remember which. never took me 15 mins to walk 200 yards even then... LETHAL.!
  14. -5C in Pudsey this morning as I left for work. Just been for walk around Otley and still below freezing surely. No reading available except my face being stung by the cold.
  15. Moderate sleet shower here about an hour ago. Some impressive structures building up towards the NE will hopefully bring more
  16. Don't often see the M62 like this even at J22 Rockingstone.! http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/leeds/trafficcameras/highwaysagency/31751
  17. This slowing down of the front and heavier precipitation may well work in our favour as the temperature drops during the latter part of the afternoon. Currently light rain in Otley. Will see what the top of the Chevin has falling out of the sky at 240M on the way back home later..
  18. Sleet here and a bit of graupal thrown in too. Temp dropping Certainly interesting again tonite as it pans out...Could go either way.
  19. I'm right at the top of Pudsey and it is definitely snowing with a bit of graupel mixed in....
  20. Agreed gonna give it half an hour more although Summer Blizzard has just reported snow here so may be bit longer!
  21. Keep checking the security light and yep still fine little flakes coming down. Jed - Anything it Otley yet ? Cheese R - Cookridge.? May need microscope aimed at lampost of course.....
