Difficult to call right now with the way the models are, will probably add mine at the last minute.

Another new month and it looks like the first week will be warm with the CET at an impressive 14.3C if the EC 00z Control is anything to go by. More typical temperatures for the time of year from the 9th though the control is on the cooler side of the mean here.

I think another above average month of temperatures is looking like a good bet.

OK, will go with 12.5 and 60.

Still can't call it but I guess it's typical for a month to be above average nowadays, so going with +0.8 above the 1981-2010 mean.

Perhaps I'm being optimistic but I'll go with the month being marginally drier than the 1981-2010 mean. An 11th consecutive wet month would be remarkable.

13.7 and 66mm.

I think the month will be drier than we’ve known for a while but unsettled spells will mean it still comes out rather wet. I think it’ll be very warm with at least one spell of quite hot weather and that some of the rain will fall as severe thunderstorms at times.

I foresee another run at records, hoping this one sustains into second half ... 14.2 C and 93.5 mm be my call.

13.3 and 21mm, perhaps me being a bit too over the top in terms of dryness but it has to flip some time and when it does it is usually instant for example the record wet February 2020 and the very dry, sunny spring that followed it.

13.4C and 53.5mm

The month that 'may' break records this year has finally arrived. Have had it in my mind for a while that this May could be a notably warm one, however at the same time don't want to overdo it so I have gone for something fairly sensible but still quite warm, similar to the warmest Mays in recent decades; 1992, 2008, 2017, '18 etc.

Majority of rain expecting to fall in the first week before entering a quite a long settled spell with the occasional brief thundery interlude.
