had a really heavy hail shower here in Plymouth at lunch time today. You can see from the picture how localised as it heads north through the city and up towards dartmoor.

Fairly frequent snow showers which have got heavier as the day has progressed. Temp and dewpoint has also dropped as the day wore on currently at 0.7C and -2.6C. We now have a light covering of snow on all surfaces including the roads. Showers seem to be pepping up and I wouldnt be surprised if we see a dose of snow tonight and into tomorrow.

A few reports of wintry precipitation for Cleadon:

7:30am yesterday: Sleety rain shower, during which temp fell from 4.4C to 2.8C

Yesterday evening: Sleety rain at 2.4-2.8C from a straight northerly wind.

00:40am: As wind picked up off the North Sea, hail shower occurred, but temp then rose high enough for showers to fall as plain old rain.

15:00pm today: Sleet/graupel shower, temp falling from 4.6C to 3.8C during shower.

The pic higher up on page 16 by Boarder is stunning!

Brief report ; light sleet at times this morning, only happened when the drizzle got a little heavier (if that makes sense).

Side note ; if this is a wintry/snow reports thread, why are people posting saying that it's sunny where they are ;) ?

A light covering of frozen hail/sleet this morning first thing, making the roads quite slippery.

Had a heavy hail shower just after 1pm,and a fairly heavy snow shower around 3pm which left a light covering, roads are becoming icy again now. ;)

After last nights snow, here are some pics from this morning and one from this evening. The snow bearly melted in the sun all day and stuck hard in the shade. Very icy at the moment and crunchy under foot. 230m asl. Reached 3oc today.

Only brief light snow showers through the day which obviously didn't lie. But currently in a moderate snow shower which is lying on all surfaces as the temperature is now down 0°. Looking at the latest radar images shower activity seems to be pepping up to the north of Scotland so hopefully some accumulations by morning.
