  Was that meant to be Holy Moly Nick or Holly Molly

Lol, it's getting late and I've had a few drinks ... noticed the NWS have included the threat to the NASCAR meeting:

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...

DENTON COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS...

TARRANT COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS...

* AT 539 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED A

LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE

HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS LINE OF

STORMS WAS LOCATED FROM NEAR ALVORD TO SOUTH OF

WEATHERFORD......AND MOVING EAST AT 40 MPH. THIS WARNING INCLUDES

THE TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY!

Don't think the tents/marquees would afford much shelter from large hail somehow. Glad we'll be in a large vehicle.

Hell's Bells ... seen this post on Eastern US WX forum:

ESPN is saying that there was a tornado touchdown 1/4 mi from Texas Motor Speedway and that they are evacuating the track.

That program on TV recently on how Dallas/Ft Worth might deal with a tornado outbreak is sort of becoming reality this evening there.

The cell over Fort Worth is showing a nice hook. SRVs aren't overly impressive but it's hard to make out with it being so close to the radar site.

TVS are Tornado Vortex Signatures (those purple triangles on the radar pics), and I'm sure there's plenty of power outages around the DFW Metro area aswell

Yeah someone took to the controls as the storms came in.. They were focusing on all sort of features.. I feel ashamed but I couldn't look away to post about it sooner  They were zooming on some small scuddy features which may have looked like a wall cloud to the untrained eye. I see it's been reset to looking at the construction site again. It was much more fun pointing at the clouds

TVS and very high reflectivity (65dBZ) - perhaps hail core - must be close to DFW airport, those planes going no-where!

Guys this could be bad. Some chasers over on Stormtrack are reporting a Large Tornado tearing up the North of Dallas Fort Worth and is becoming a dominant Supercell, the couplet and velocity is getting even stronger, the Dallas Skyscrapers are not out of the firing line

Looks like a collision course with downtown Dallas doesn't it, or just to the North:

post-1052-1176507742_thumb.png

2.5" hail at DFW airport apparently. Teacup size aswell somewhere else nearby.
