Will May 2007 be the warmest since May 1833? or the coldest since 1902?

I predict that this May will be the warmest on record 15.5C C.E.T (Global Warming in Britain now at stage 4...)

Make your punts for May 2007 here.

Can someone clarify, what is the current average CET for May ?

I never try these guessing games at the monthly, but

*PLease, a link for a site/page which lists the average CET which you people tend to refer to?

Calrissian: DeJa Vu, weird movie.

...was warmer than June

1833 May 15.1 June 14.6

...was colder than April

1987 Apr 10.3 May 10.1

...was warmer than September

1992 May 13.6 Sept 13.4

There have been 4 instances of 2 consecutive Mays having a CET of 13 and greater

1808 13.7; 1809 13.1

1833 15.1; 1834 13.0

We might not be at the glorified "stage 4" (which sounds like something out of a video game) of global warming.

So i'm going for 12.6c.

I think I'll go for 2.7*C above the 71-2000 figure (as that seems to be the trend) and go for 14*C. if it's any higher

I will have to start feeling concerned about July/Aug this year!

I'll go for 12.1C, a very easterly month in all, a fairly changable month because of possible Lp's skirting away to our south and far far NW which will give fronts possibly to N. part of the UK.

Going to take something very warm to break the record of 15.1C, which is a massive standalone compared to the other May's.

when we break that record, then I'm worried!

Hadley average anomaly this year is 2.25C to April 8th. NOAA NH anomaly Jan-Mar (land), 1.53C. SSTA regionally and along GS corridor 1-2C.

Making absoluteyly sure I don't get a late penalty for the third month in a row, 13.7C

Hey Mr Data, I'm working on a forecast, and I need this one important variable:

what forecast will make you spill your coffee this month?

I plan to go 1.0 under that.

Craig's 15.5 for May! :cc_confused: :

May 1833 was a freakish month, it is 1.2C ahead of the next highest May. If May 2007 beats May 1833, I would be very worried!

May has been colder than April, 6 times

1755, 1814, 1821, 1869, 1894, 1987
