UK Outlook for Sunday 21 Oct 2007 to Tuesday 30 Oct 2007:

The far north and northwest of Scotland will see rain at times on Sunday, and into the first part of next week. Most other places, however, will start dry with high pressure across the country, ensuring fine and settled conditions. Gradually, the unsettled weather in the northwest will progress southeastwards to affect all parts by the end of the period, with showers following on into the north and west. Cloud amounts will be variable at first by day, allowing some sunny spells, and with just light winds. The nights will be rather chilly, with some frost, as well as patches of mist and fog. Gradually, it will become cloudier over southern and eastern regions too, heralding the arrival of the rain, and with some stronger winds for all.

UK Outlook for Monday 22 Oct 2007 to Wednesday 31 Oct 2007:

There will be outbreaks of rain and strong winds across northwestern areas on Monday. Elsewhere, a mostly dry start, and with high pressure building across the country for a time, all areas should fine fine conditions for a couple of days at least with some sunshine by day, but some patchy fog night and morning. especially in the south. Later next week, a trend to more unsettled conditions seems likely as the high pressure sinks southwestwards, allowing Atlantic weather systems to bring rain or showers with occasional strong winds, initially to the north, but to most places by the weekend. Temperatures will be generally near normal, but are likely to fall below normal at times later, especially in the north, bringing the risk of snow to northern hills.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 23 Oct 2007 to Thursday 1 Nov 2007:

Rain and strong winds are expected to spread southeastwards across Scotland, N.Ireland and perhaps northern England on Tuesday, with some heavy rain and gales possible in the north. More showery conditions are then likely on Wednesday in those parts, with those showers most frequent in the north. Meanwhile, the rest of England and Wales should be largely dry with sunny spells and some clear, chilly nights. From the end of next week until the end of the month, the forecast is very uncertain. It is likely that unsettled conditions and spells of rain along with some strong winds will continue to affect the north, whilst drier, brighter conditions are likely in the south, although some outbreaks of rain may spread further south at times. Temperatures will generally be around normal.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 24 Oct 2007 to Friday 2 Nov 2007:

Rain and strong winds are expected across northwest Scotland and N.Ireland on Wednesday and Thursday, with some heavy rain and gales possible. Other northern parts, and perhaps Wales and the southwest, are likely to be fairly cloudy with a few outbreaks of light rain, while elsewhere should be largely dry with sunny spells. Any clear spells may lead to night time fog and frosts. For the end of next week and into the following week, the forecast is very uncertain. It is likely that unsettled conditions and spells of rain will continue to affect the north along with some strong winds, whilst drier, brighter conditions further south are likely to gradually give way to more unsettled weather during the second week of this forecast. Temperatures will generally be around normal.

UK Outlook for Thursday 25 Oct 2007 to Saturday 3 Nov 2007:

Thursday and Friday should stay settled with largely dry conditions, although rather cloudy at times with some brightness in the west. Perhaps some showers along east coasts and over northwestern parts. Local ground frost is possible in central areas overnight with temperatures slightly below normal. Conditions remaining settled through the weekend with possibly a few showers in the south. The start of the following week should be largely dry with broken cloud and risk of scattered showers in the south. Temperatures below normal with overnight frosts possible. Towards the end of the week the high is forecast to decline to the west as a northerly flow develops with scattered showers and bright spells. Generally turning cold with overnight frosts, and risk of wintry showers over northern hills.

UK Outlook for Friday 26 Oct 2007 to Sunday 4 Nov 2007:

A ridge of high pressure extending westwards from a large Scandy High will dominate the weather across the UK for a time. This will mean plenty of quiet, but rather cloudy weather, but some sunny spells are likely for some western areas, particularly northwest Scotland. Some patchy light rain or light showers are possible across some central and eastern areas, and here some days may be dull and grey. During the period, the ridge of high pressure is expected to decline with more unsettled weather conditions extending erratically southeastwards. Most of the rain or showers are expected across northern and western areas where strong winds are possible, with drier conditions holding on for longest across the southeast. Temperatures throughout will be near or rather below normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 27 Oct 2007 to Monday 5 Nov 2007:

There is fairly high confidence for a band of rain, heavy at times to cross all parts of the UK over the weekend, though less confidence over the exact timing, however southern and eastern parts are at least expected to start the weekend mainly dry. During the first half of next week, more unsettled conditions with showers are expected in most areas, with below average temperatures. Later in the week and towards the following weekend indications are that the high pressure will re-establish itself over the UK, bringing a return to drier conditions, particularly in the west. Some chilly nights are again likely, but at least by day, temperatures should be nearer to normal for the time of year.

UK Outlook for Sunday 28 Oct 2007 to Tuesday 6 Nov 2007:

There is fairly high confidence for a band of rain, heavy at times to cross southeast across the UK during Sunday, with more showery conditions following into the northwest. During the first half of next week, more unsettled conditions with showers are expected in most areas, with slightly below average temperatures. Later in the week and towards the following weekend indications are that the high pressure could re-establish itself over the southern part UK at times, bringing some drier spells. Much of the rest of the country however will remain fairly unsettled though, and this might even affect parts of the south from time to time. Temperatures will probably not be far from average, but it may feel chilly at times in the wind.

UK Outlook for Monday 29 Oct 2007 to Wednesday 7 Nov 2007:

During the first half of next week, the weather is expected to be unsettled with showers in all areas, some of these heavy, especially in the north and west, and perhaps merging into some longer spells of rain. Temperatures are likely to be a little below normal, so it will feel chilly in strong westerly winds. Later in the week and towards the following weekend indications are that high pressure is likely to affect southern part UK at times, bringing some drier spells. Much of the rest of the country, however, is expected to remain fairly unsettled though, with further rain or showers, accompanied at times by strong winds. Temperatures are likely to be near average, though it may become mild at times in the south.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 30 Oct 2007 to Thursday 8 Nov 2007:

There are likely to be showers for many places on Tuesday, but these should become more confined to northern areas by the middle of nest week. However, some spells of organized rain are possible across the far north where it will be windy. Temperatures will be near average. During the rest of the week and the weekend, high pressure is expected to develop towards the southern half of the UK, thus restricting unsettled weather mainly to the far north. Further south, some good drier interludes are possible with some sunshine by day, but with patchy frost and fog night and morning. Temperatures should remain close to the seasonal average. Little change into the following week, unsettled and rather windy in the north, but mostly settled and dry for southern areas.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 31 Oct 2007 to Friday 9 Nov 2007:

A good deal of dry weather is expected over southern parts though the remainder of next week and into the weekend but with large amounts of cloud. Some rain is likely during Friday into Saturday but amounts over the far south are expected to be small. From Northern England northwards including Northern Ireland unsettled conditions will predominate with periods of rain and strong winds at times along with just a few brief drier and brighter interludes. Some heavy rain is likely at times especially over the hills in the Northwest. Temperatures near or a little above normal for most parts with only a low risk of frost. A similar pattern is expected for the following week unsettled for the north with the driest and brightest weather over the south.

Northwest Scotland and Northern Ireland will be mostly cloudy with occasional rain, heavy over the far northwest. The rain in the northwest will spread southeast for a time next weekend but gradually die out, with little rain across the south and east. The following week will also see a good deal of dry and settled weather across the UK although some cloud and rain is likely in the far north at times. Quite sunny for a time, but with chilly nights, then becoming generally cloudy. Temperatures near or above normal, rather warm over the south and east at first, though becoming a little cooler by the following week.

UK Outlook for Saturday 3 Nov 2007 to Monday 12 Nov 2007:

Areas of high pressure are expected to persist for most of this period either across or to the south of the UK. Atlantic weather systems will affect the north at times especially the far north with spells of wind and rain and a low risk of gales, most of the rain over western Scotland although even here some drier spells too. But for much of the UK often dry and quiet weather is expected with only small amounts of rain. Under clear skies, some sunshine by day but chilly nights with a risk of fog and frost. But where cloud is persistent nights will be somewhat milder and frost not expected. Temperatures overall likely to be near or above normal.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 6 Nov 2007 to Thursday 15 Nov 2007:

High pressure is expected to be the dominant weather feature across the UK for much of this forecast period, mainly centred to the southwest of the UK, steering areas of low pressure around its northern flank between Iceland and Scotland. This will mean a north south split for much of next week with Scotland and Northern Ireland mild and windy with rain at times. England and Wales should have plenty of dry weather with some sunshine by day, but with patchy mist or fog overnight. As time progresses, there is a trend for more unsettled conditions to spread southwards across the UK, followed by cooler weather. This will mean an increase in the risk of frost, and some wintry showers over northern hills.

UK Outlook for Monday 12 Nov 2007 to Wednesday 21 Nov 2007:

The weather during this period looks somewhat typical for the time of year. Low pressure will often be close to northern Scotland, and high pressure looks set to dominate to the southwest of the UK. The result is that winds will predominantly be from a west or northwesterly direction, bringing bands of rain, or some showers at times, occasionally wintry over northern mountains. Strong winds are likely at times, again, especially in the north. Drier and brighter spells are likely in all areas, though the greatest frequency of these is likely to be in the southwest, where the chance of strong winds is lower that in the north. Broadly speaking, temperatures are likely to be around normal, with a risk of frosts under clear skies at night.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 14 Nov 2007 to Friday 23 Nov 2007:

With high pressure to the north of the UK during the middle of next week, easterly winds may spread cold air westwards, affecting mainly eastern parts of the UK for a time. Most places should be dry, but some wintry showers may occur near to North Sea coasts. Thereafter, high pressure is expected to build northeastwards from the Atlantic, bringing a slow return to less cold conditions, though it may continue to feel chilly under generally cloudy or dull skies. Most places will remain dry in the south. Further north and east, the weather is expected to become unsettled and at times windy with rain or showers, some of these perhaps wintry at times in the north where gales are possible on occasions.

UK Outlook for Thursday 15 Nov 2007 to Saturday 24 Nov 2007:

There is still a risk of some cooler air wafting westwards from the Continent early in the period, affecting mainly eastern areas. However, the risk of this happening is decreasing. Otherwise, high pressure is expected to build northeastwards from the Atlantic, bringing a slow return to less cold conditions, though it may continue to feel chilly under generally cloudy or dull skies, especially in the southeast. Most places will remain dry in the south. Further north and east, the weather is expected to become unsettled and at times windy with rain or showers, some of these perhaps wintry at times in the north where gales are possible on occasions. Later, more unsettled and windy conditions may extend southwards to affect the whole of the UK.

UK Outlook for Friday 16 Nov 2007 to Sunday 25 Nov 2007:

High pressure centered away to the southwest is likely to bring the best weather across southwestern parts during this period. Bands of cloud and rain are expected to feed in from the northwest around this high pressure though, and these will bring more unsettled conditions to Scotland and perhaps N.Ireland, and early next week there may be some gales or severe gales over northern Scotland. Some outbreaks of rain will occasionally push further south over England and Wales as well. Eastern coasts are also likely to see some blustery showers in between areas of rain, whilst better conditions are likely in central and western parts. Some snow is likely over northern hills. Temperatures will be around or a little below normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 17 Nov 2007 to Monday 26 Nov 2007:

A fairly mild start to the period is expected, but an area of frontal rain is likely to push southeastwards across the UK over the weekend with outbreaks of rain expected across all parts at some point, perhaps with some heavy bursts at times. Cooler conditions are then likely to follow in from the northwest bringing temperatures just below normal and also perhaps further outbreaks of rain, along with some strong winds in exposed parts. There is a good chance of that northwesterly airstream persisting next week. This would bring the driest and brightest conditions across southeastern parts of the UK and the most frequent showers or spells of rain in the northwest. However, there is still significant uncertainty over the forecast for next week at this stage.

UK Outlook for Sunday 18 Nov 2007 to Tuesday 27 Nov 2007:

Rather cold to start the period, with an area of rain likely to push southeastwards across the UK, perhaps heavy at times in the south and east. Conditions are then likely to become drier for a time early next week in the northwest but further rain is possible in the south and east, where temperatures will remain generally below normal with a strong, chilly northeast wind. All parts becoming drier with lighter winds for a couple of days, but with a risk of overnight and morning frost and fog. Increasing northwesterlies towards the end of next week will bring further periods of rain or showers, wintry over northern hills. Temperatures will fall again to below normal. Towards the end of the forecast period, winds will ease and become more westerly.
